Legend of Korra Returns Sept 13 !!

Just a reminder "Legend of Korra: Book2 Spirits" debuts tomorrow night on NickToons Channel in a one hour special...don't forget to set your recorders.

The show is off to a great start this season, I can't wait to see how the rest of this season unfolds.

Anybody else have their suspicions about Korra's uncle, we've already seen that he's not as nice as he seems to be but I'm wondering if he's the one responsible for all of the recent spirit attacks. Of course that would probably be a bit too obvious but I still don't trust him, if he doesn't turn out to be the bad guy that they're making him seem to be then I'm certain that he's the well meaning but misguided type and will turn out to be some sort of tragic figure before the end of the season.

As much as I like the series one thing still bugs me and that's the tech level. Is it just me or is anyone else bothered by how advanced their tech is given the amount of time that has passed since the first Avatar series. It was a bit much during season 1 but bearable but they've really seemed to have upped the tech this season with mega yachts, planes, & snowmobiles. However, I will admit that as much as I think that the tech is a little too advanced I do like the design aesthetics for all of the tech in the show, a nice combination of old and new and Asian & Western.

You're questioning the logic of a show that has people that can harness and manipulate the elements to their will. Also, technology advances very rapidly once the right machines are made. I would also like to remind you that they had airships, battleships, and a big bore machine back in the original series. They're going through the industrial era and just focusing on the luxury items right now.

And remember, it only took us 54 years to go from the first airplane to putting a rocket into space. Aang died when he was 66, which is 54 years after the 100 year war ended. So I'm not really surprised at the technological advancements they've gone through

Once an industrial revolution happens tech and society develop fast. The 20th century has been one of the fastest periods of development we know of, sadly now we're stagnant but that happens between bursts. In the show it's no surprise that they're having an industrial revolution, not to mention with the ability to harness elements society and technology will develop differently from the real world.

So spoilers for those who haven't watched yet.

I wonder if this season's issues are going to parallel religious debates and wars, with the Northern, more spiritual tribe trying to force the Southern water tribe to reembrace the spirits. It could be an interesting challenge for Korra, both for herself, and to prevent war amongst the water tribes, especially since she's not a very spiritual person in general.
