Leg sculpt

Hey Ruffkin-

Nice job on the leg sculpt- your armor is so clean! I wanted to ask you a few questions about that. I am gonna be sculpting a skin sometime next month or so (just the skin no armor).

How was it sculpting on that large of a scale with waterbased clay? I was planning on using wed- but I have a feeling I am gonna spend more time spraying him down than sculpting.

Thanks!

Whauw! Impressive! B)

Yep making legs is though! But I see much experience in your work! And I can learn a lot from it! Thanks, I will make my legs now more down to earth! (I did it a very complicated way. )

I didn't have any problems working on the water clay. I would spray it every once in a while when working on it and then spray it good before covering it up when not working on it. You will want it to harden up some for doing detail work otherwise if its to wet it is mushy.
I'm using just a regular waterbased clay that I get cheaper cause its not good for firing so the WED clay should be fine for you. Just keep it covered well when not working on it, I covered it with heavy plastic and tape all areas like the waist, ankles and any seams. Hope that helps some, if you need anything else let me know.

dont suppose you got the dimensions of these?

Not sure the exact measurements of the latex but my waist is about 38" and my thigh at the largest point is 26". I have cast a set and they fit me snug but not tight.

Here's a pic of the leg mold along with one of my workers B)

No vaseline on the clay, I use crystal clear to seal the clay and that also provides a barrier so the wall doesn't stick.

ok.. but damm!! now i have to now wath the hell is cristal clear here in my country...
thanks man!!

Crystal clear is an acrylic clear coat that comes in a spray can. I have used normal enamel spray clear coat but I prefer the crystal clear.
