hi everyone!
I am building a foam build of anya Stroud from gears of war.
all is going well on the build at the moment, but I am totally stuck on the strip led lights I am going to need for the costume. I need them to be battery operated, and having absolutely no knowledge of wires, electronics or anything in this field, I don't know where to start!

I've had a look online and I have found these:

SMD 1210 Flexible LED Lights Strips 60 LEDs 1m Blue

would these work? and if so, how would I connect a battery to them or an on/off switch?

please please could someone help me asap!!

thank you!

If you aren't very familiar with wiring and LEDs. The simplest way and I think more the effect you are looking for would be EL tape. There is a guy on eBay just search el tape or if you prefer EL Wire Craft |  Shipping was very fast. The El tape canbe cut to any size or shape glued in place comes in a wide variety of colors and is battery operated. If you check his site out there are photos of projects using this. Or check my build thread in the photos my ironman eyes are el panels. Hope this helps.

I agree. EL is the way to go. LEDs will drain the battery much quicker than EL as well. All Yu need is an inverter, battery and the EL tape.

El tape is also sold at Auto Zone and Napa, so you might find it locally. It's even in a "Try Me" packaging so you just just be able to use the included electronics?
