Here's the final version of the Poe/Finn flight jacket I've had made. A big improvement over the sample I had made.

This is the culmination of almost 10 months work. I've learned a TON. And I'm very happy with the result!!

pics look nice, looking forward to receiving mine and adding the weathering to the straps.

Is there any word on getting greebles for it yet?

I don't know anything about greeblies for it. I might order some from shapeways and see if I can make them work but that's about it. I'll post what I learn if I do that.

That's what I did. I'm pretty confident that they'll work with a little fiddling with. The biggest challenge will be the getting the breast greeblie on

Awesome work, Zrlurpo!

Regarding color and style of the leather, your jacket seems to be the most accurate I've seen so far!
Still, there's one thing that struck my eye as bit odd: The webbed straps on the shoulders seem to run diagonally... Shouldn't they be parallel to the breast-greeble and perpendicular to the opening of the jacket? Or am I wrong there?

Thanks, I was very happy with the leather color. Regarding the straps... Yes and no. They ARE supposed to be diagonal, but less than in this picture. The jackets I received had a bit of variation. The one I'm wearing (the one made to my sizes) is one of the worst in this regard. The top of the webbing should line up with the stitch line on the sleeve. On this one, the *bottom* of the webbing lines up with the stitch line. Some of them were done right, some weren't.

Ah, I see! Taking the stitch-lines as orientation, I am able to follow you now. Great study on all the details by you!
(Sorry for misspelling your name by the way. Should've been 'Zlurpo' , of course!)

Bringing the updates over here since the other thread is more of an interest list.

anyways I had to cut the breast greeblies in half to have them lay down a little better with Velcro. Downside is now the strap cannot go through.

As you'll see, some angles look good, others not so much.

So more improvement to come. Sill not satisfied with the look yet.

And I recommend a healthy coat of Saddle Wax to soften the leather and then go over with some conditioning oil to nourish and waterproof the leather. The conditioning oils can darken leather so use with caution. Maybe do the inside lapel to see the outcome first.

If you've dealt with leather before you know what your doing.
