Well I have a couple of the books that you all suggested on the way. Where can I buy the oil based clay to start making my mold for a latex foam mask and can you mold the clay around a foam head to start with?

You can mould clay around a foam head, but it depends upon the clay, it always seems to shrink and crack for me. :(

Oil based clay will stick to a hard foam head, what are you planning on making?, foam latex is a bitch to use if your not used to it, latex or cold foam (polyfoam) are good for masks.

I plan on making something of my own creation. My fiance and I are going to try our hands at it. I have never done anyting like this before so I dont know what I am doing lol. I was told oil based clay. And I figured doing it around a foam head would be great to lesson the amount of clay used. Tell me what you think is the best way

Well the best thing to remember is if its going to be wearable, use a human head form, some of those mannequin heads are tiny so watch out, i sculpt masks etc a bit larger than normal as if for instance you are making a latex mask, the latex can shrink by around 10 % once cured.
