Hey gang,
I've been asked to build a robot costume for a short film that someone is making. Going over the designs I've been given I think the best thing I can do is make a set of wooden bucks and then have them vac-formed and lined with expanding foam to make a lightweight costume that an actor can wear. It also means that I can knock a couple of costumes out from the same buck, just in case something happens.
The only problem is, I don't have a vac-form machine. Does anyone know a place that will form this stuff for me at a reasonable price? The sheets will have to be about the area of a full-grown adult's torso, and a few inches in height overall, so maybe 3 x 2 foot, or something like that. I'll travel if need be, but something in either the London or Birmingham areas would be good.
Cheers!
