Large scale Y-Wing

Hey, I LOVE it! Thats awesome!

More pics!

Where will you display it?

I'm thinking of putting in on a base looking a bit similar to this (however I will consider other suggestions if anyone has any):

However, in "reality" if the Y-Wing was this close to the Thermal Exhaust Port it wouldn't be able to pull out. The port at this scale should be about 12.5 cm wide.

I wouldnt worry to much about reality. ;) That would be cool in that scale. I think something like this could be cool too:

Glad to see youre upp and well after the car accident! Looking forward to progress pics.

After two years, I have finally got back to the Y-wing. I was doing a basement renovation that was taking all my free time. I finished it in spring and have been hungrily getting back into the hobby after buying a lot of kits over the past few years.

Yesterday and today I managed to put a new basecoat on it that, I believe, more closely matches the studio model. The next step is the yellow markings.

WOW! That is impressive. The attention to detail is astonishing. Great job on the paint and weathering.

Thanks bwize. First time weathering with an airbrush. I was always used a paintbrush before.

There was some article that I read about ILM using airbrushes that hadn't been cleaned in weeks to weather their models. I tried this but it wasn't effective. Best to use an airbrush in working condition. :lol
