Labyrinth Help needed

I am currently putting together a Sarah Costume and I am looking at making the red Labyrinth book that she has.

Has any one got any ideas how it would be best to put the detailing onto the front of the book? I was thinking of maybe using dye/fabric pens but does anyone have any other suggestions.

Also does any one have any good close up pics of it as I am having trouble finding close up shots when she isn't holding it.

I am also making the bracelet that she gives to Hoggle so if anyone knows where to find good pics of that , that would be very appreciated.

I haven't seen a lot of great pictures, but I always thought that it would be a hardcover, covered in cloth, like a lot of older books. Sometimes you can get similar-styled journals at Borders, if you can find one small enough. If not, go to the flea market and look for an old hardcover with plain red cloth. If not, you could probably get some of the right material and just use it to cover another book. You would just need to glue the fabric on, kind of like a book cover, and then cut & glue a piece of paper on the insides to hide the rough edges. For the detail around the edges, I would check the craft store for stamps or embossing supplies. They have some adhesive stamps that you might be able to use to match the pattern. If you don't like the idea of using stick-ons, you could try embossing the pattern. It's usually just a special kind of ink, and a powder you apply while the ink is wet. Double check to make sure it will work on the cloth cover of your book. AC Moore has embossing ink and powder listed in their scrapbooking supplies, but it doesn't give a lot of detail on what surfaces it can be used on.
