Kylo Ren Voice Changer HELMET (not mask)

The stock is probably exhausted due to the popularity of the movie and the holidays.
The factory probably needs to catch up to demand

I was thinking that at first. I just think it's odd that many of the pages actually don't exist anymore. They're still in Google and that's why I know they're right.

I picked up one of these last week and it is now on it's way to jamestan for proper modding.

I'm thinking of rejoining the 501st as Kylo Ren and hopefully the mods to this would be approved. I can't spend the kind of crazy money for the Anovos.

Being 6'4" is irrelevant. Everything we've seen on screen and in person shows that the black series lines up almost perfectly size wise.

We've him on screen with Troopers, and his helmet is clearly smaller. It isn't "huge."

After watching the movie and looking at the screen caps, I'm taking back what I said earlier. The voice changer helmet is much closer in size to the production helmets. The Rubies is not only overall larger, but it looks wider.

Anybody have any tips on how to fix a scuff on the silver/chrome portion? I ordered one from target.com (where it's now sold out) and when I pulled it out of the box, I found a nice scuff. I suppose I could just call it "battle damage" and leave it there, but it still bothers the heck out of me. The scuff has removed the silver, so it's down to the plastic underneath. I'm currently at work so I don't have a pic.

Dude, thats just free weathering! leave it, Kylo's is all beat up, and I dont think his helmet looks right lookin brand new. Just my 2c.

I've got the helmet and plan on using bondo and re-painting the whole thing, as well as making a mechanism for the mouth part like in the movie. Any ideas on how to make it stronger before I cut it? I'm thinking of fiberglass, but the resin might melt the plastic.

Is the scuff a black mark on the chrome? If yes....

I had the same thing. A black mark on the chrome forehead ridge. I gently scraped it off with my fingernail and it was shiny and chrome underneath.

Turns out it was just the paint they use between the chrome lines.

Yeah, that's what I think I'm going to do. It looks a little weird since the plastic underneath is white, but I'll get used to it.

Nice work on your helmet, by the way. I wish I had the skills/balls to do anything close to what you did.

I wish it was just a black mark. The silver/chrome is actually missing, exposing the white plastic underneath.

Thanks man, I appreciate that. One thing though, I've cut into the chrome piece and am sure the plastic underneath is black ABS. I've melted through it and I know mine is black plastic, when I sand through the chrome down to plastic it's also black. I don't know why yours is showing white. Maybe it's not the plastic underneath, but a paint scuff?

I got it to open my helmet for Christmas!

So, can anyone make a guide on what the absolute best way is to improve the voice changer?
Would be easier if someone wrote it down with pics instead of following a video.

Ive tried everything to get the voice changer working... everything failed. I just got mind bending feedback... even removing the "dish" and covering the mic made no difference.

in the end, I put tape over the speakers... and it's perfect!

just need to make a more permanent solution.

I rick the problem is, the speakers are too loud. it picks up its own feedback.

For the guys in the UK: Debenhams have this listed as 'in-stock' for £85 ...also, slap on this 10% off code XM37 and enjoy.

Merry Chrismas

Finally got this finished up to my liking. Waited to see the movie a few times to use as main reference, with Anovos coming in as a secondary. I'm pretty happy with it!

I'll grab some better pics outdoors tomorrow if it doesn't rain... Had to filter the crap out of these to get them even slightly close to how it looks in real life!
