Kylo Ren Voice Changer HELMET (not mask)

Yeah, i asked them via facebook and they answered me with this text (mediated from german):

"Hello, unfortunately, Hasbro or any of the product's distributors don't confirm any dates regarding the release of the helmet. We have heard rumours coming from their side that the release could be delayed by a month or two (in Dec/Jan), so it might be possible that the helmet could come even after the movie's release. But it could also be the other way around. For example: We had the Kylo Ren FX Lightsaber even earlier than amazon and several other sellers."

Ah ok.Thanks for the info. But it can come earlier as this date.So I will wait. And the good thing to buy here that you can also send it back when you have any problems.

yeah this is a great alternative to the $500 with very little mods it looks great

That looks great! Did you keep the original plastic eye piece? I found mine to be quite blurry so I replaced it. Also how did you make the hood?

I've got to give credit where credit is due... @Jamestan I took your advice and welded the helmet together. It worked fantastically!

I can't recommend welding it enough. I've seen failed attempts with epoxies and CA Glue... Don't bother with that stuff.... I bought a cheap $17 wood burning tool with interchanging bits and it took 5 minutes to get it done solidly!

Little bondo work on the seams, and attaching the battery cover and buttons are all I have left to do!

That's great to hear. That was actually the first thing that popped in my head to do but was the last thing I tried. I used epoxy, then ABS cement, ABS slurry, plumbers epoxy, then I finally thought what the heck get out the soldering iron. Maybe I should have bought one of those wood burning tools, as doing the seams and the front layers and everything else with a single tip took a lot of work.

Did you wear a mask while doing all the welding? Those fumes are strong!

I pretty much live in a respirator at this point! My garage is full of various epoxies, resins, spray paints, etc.. And there are always two or three projects going!

Respirators are a must, protect your lungs!!

thanks! i did keep it in but ill be replacing it later. as for the hood it's my wife's jawa hood from her costume that i borrowed for this picture lol but honestly after building her jawa and seeing the similarities in hood/robe im going to do kylo the same way with some alterations (all the other parts under his outfit)

I've finished the helmet and got it to the point where I'm really happy with it, but now I need the hood. I got some material for it but have no idea how to sew. Any help would be great. I just want to make the hood and the scarf part for now.

As for the eye piece if and when ever you decide to go change it out layering up a few layers of aluminum window screen mesh and painting it black works great.

When I have the helmet I will not mod it before we know more about the different versions.

Anyone have any updates on store availablity? I went to a Target in Missouri.. No stock... and no idea what I was talking about. I also called customer service and they couldn't find it. They could only find a Darth Vader voice changer mask. C

Can anyone post a SKU# if they bought it from a store in the states? Maybe I can find it that way.

THANK YOU!!

I checked this site and it seemed fairly accurate. Search by the DPCI number ( 087-06-3671 )

Thank you!! That's perfect! It looks like a lot of stores have a couple on hand but none Saleable. I wonder if they can sell the ones not marked as "saleable".
