Kuhn Global RED 5 built by Hand Solo – BLUE SCREEN

Since I was taking photos of the birds with the new screen, I thought I would show the beastie right. ;)

The photo you see was only cropped, very mildly contrast adjusted, and the stands eliminated. Then the watermark added. As I have stated before,.. what you see is what it really looks like. :D

Wow that is really nice.

I'd love to have one of these. I wonder what a commission would run.....

Redd Foxx standing by! :D

LOLOLOLOLOLOL... What was the name of Foxx's charachter's deceased wife he always called out to when he acted like he was having an attack? Was it Ester? :confused LOLOLOLOL I can't remember. I remember laughing alot at that fella though! :lol

Thanks again for the comps guys!

As for RED 5 questions...

This RED 5 was built up by Bob (Hand Solo). I currently have him doing many build commissions, and I am sure he would be up for more even though his plate is full. ;)

If you are looking for a great X-Wing guy, he is one of the best for "realism" and correctness of markings (insignia and weathering). ;) He also achieved a very kewl "carbon scoring" weathering effect rather than the standard effect achieved with most paint ups. It created a very "real" feel to it as if it really could have been in service if it were full sized and real. ;) I highly recommend his talents, though I feel a bit greedy at times and want him to use them only for the collection! :lol But that would be very wrong of me to do so...LOLOLOL.

He also built up a FANTASTIC RED 2 for the collection (which will be posted soon with Blue Screen Backdrop).

Later today, you will see more of his work with the Battlestar Galactica TOS "CDR CAIN" Edition Viper I will be posting with Blue Screen Backdrop.

As a serious collector of items that I enjoy showing, there are only a few artists that I gravitate around. Bob (Hand Solo) is one of them. Richard (REL) is another (whos GREAT talents are well documented everywhere! ;) ), and there is a possible third I am looking at adding to the mix soon. The very talented Matt (Max Zephyr). The beauty of this conglomeration of talent is that they all will be utilized in very different areas of the artform. From scratch building, to sculpting, to outside kit build-ups. I well respect them! :D

So many of you artists are so FANTASTIC that it makes choosing VERY Difficult! ;) LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Sorry for asking but whats the price for a SS replica like this...fully built and painted? I'm searching for alternatives to all the MR stuff and have no idea if its the same price range or more or less.

Cheers

Awsome pictures and even better model.:love

great build up. I'm Jealous.:redface

One question that has me stumped. More or less a Star Wars world thing.

How in the hell does one fly an x-wing when he can't even see forwards
through the cockpit? Looks like nice side to side vision but the (dash) I
guess you''d call it, is way up above his head and in field of his forward vision.

I'll have to watch the movie again and see. Guess thats what those little
pop out goggles where for. (The force helps of course! :love

One answer: IFR. LOL!!

A lot of flying-by-instrument... especially at the speeds they're flying. Anyway... the real world is FULL of aircraft where forward visibility is restricted. The F-106 Delta Dart is one example.

Thanks for the compliments on the buildup! And I think Kurt has done a fantastic job with lighting and photography and then digitally painting out the stands.

A valid question...

I value each X-Wing in the collection anywhere between $1500 to $2000 U.S.. I keep all my pieces insured just in case! ;)

I would recommend PM'ing the artists themsleves to ask them privately what they may charge to do a piece for you. ;)

Hey, Kurt!

Elizabeth was Fred Sanford's deceased wife, Ester was his sister in law, who he lovingly refered to as Madame Godzilla, Gorilla Face, Bride of Kong etc.!:lol Hand Solo did an incredible job on the Red 5, had there been a Redd Foxx X-Wing, I'm sure he would have done it justice as well! Seriously, that is a beautful paintjob, screen accurate weathering, and I love the open panel on the Artoo head! That's a sweet detail I never would have thought of. I also like Luke looking off to Port instead of just staring straight ahead like all the others. The detail on the cockpit is really awesome!:thumbsup Hope mine turns out half as nice as this! Love the bluescreen work too, you're an excellent photographer!:cheers
