Rapidly approaching a good, strong 30-32% accuracy on the head and the body pieces, when suddenly...

On each shoulder, an....is it? Oh! This *IS* wierd! An incarnation of a three inch tall evil vs good Art Andrews appears on each of my shoulders!!!

One, with a very rough, bitter voice keeps saying, "you are Done! Move on to the next piece!"

But the other, has a strangely Irish, accent pleads, "this looks all good n fine, but choo can dew muore! Yeh can dew bet-tuh!"

And I mull over the results.

I hold shiny pieces up to the light, admiring them for symetry and the infamous eL oH eSs, the LOS or Line of Shine,

and I am like, okay, let's keep goin for it.

First pic shows a half n half, half sanded and half unsanded on da body...

Next pic show da hed. The front o da hed did not have a consistent rectangle of LOS , so, I trows down sum more FreeForm Air and try ta even it out.

Adding more coats to stained glass templates molds.

Why?

So that Task 16 doesnt stick to the mold and is hopefully easy remove.

I'll take "things that sound like diseases, but aren't," for $400.

Host: These thorns in the side of resin users, as seen here, come from cheap brushes.

What are "bristle worms?"

Ladies and gentlemen,

Without further adieu,

I present,

The Greens

Why has it taken so long to pursue this? Because it ain't that straightforward, sweethart!

While the greens, on first glance, look like simple, bent, pipe contour with ridges; if you search deeper, one may notice that it is more than just the arc of a circle.

*Cracks Riding Crops*

Eeet Esss Not a zimple, conteenuous curb!

Am I hallucinating? Just following the shadows...No! Not THOSE Shadows. The LoS, the Line of Shine even follows my assumption.
So, aluminum foil taped above and below, then gently molded to prevent the next application of...

you-guessed-it!

More FreeForm Air to the Greens.

Once it hardens, I can add more, and sand it and etch the ridges into it.
I am also still sanding and prepping the two halves of the helmet to be fused together. Same for the body, sanding, cleaning up, but the corrections are small, so cleared to add to them.

NEXT: The little tentacles thingies creeping out infront of the Greens

I hope everyone had a great set o' holidays!

Our time on this rock is limited, so laughing til you fart moments, pigging out on yummy, home-cooked food and giving/receiving thoughtful gifts really helps let me know I am doing something right.

And back to Kosh.
Never actually left it, but time has been super limited.

I changed the face/head a bit. Put a hole saw on the Eye hole and added more FreeFormAir to make a smaller hole. I sanded down the forehead to make it much more accurate. Sharpened the angles on the wings. Then put on a few layers of XTC 3d. The final layer was THICK. Totally against recommendation, but I am crazy like that.

Still using black pigment but adding Cryptolyte which makes outdoors pics look purple.
The goal is to have a black base to spray color-changing paint on. When outside it will really dazzle with the Cryptolyte *AND* the color-change paint.

The greens were initially put down, and need to be prettied up.

Still adding to the body, then sanding.

I Put down thick XTC on the CHin and the body as well.

The XTC cops now have a warrant out for me.

Wow JPH, amazing work.
Thanks!

Not that I am asking for abuse, but if anyone sees something that don't look right, please let me know.
The eyebrow area to the flat part of the head was just wayyyyy too short . And I know I wrestled with liking what I was making to the image in my head vs being accurate. Also, the curves on the sides of the eyebrow was too inaccurate. I liked the sharp angle on the eyebrow, but in the end, not Kosh enough.

Oh, and my safeword is "more."

Whoa! Might actually be dun wif da toppa da hed. Gonna gotta put some o dat xtc wif black pigment to knows fo shure.

Also tidying up them greens. Had a sloppy sculpt, then sanded, test fit the apply more Free Form Cow Dun...Air! Free Form Air!

...or am I really making bananas? The RBF. The Replica Banana Forum?

Applied some xtc to the FreeForm Air that had been rougly sanded for the Greens. It helps reveal and flatten cracks and defects. Also it adds strength to the edges of FreeForm air making them less likely to chip. Eventually I will use them to make molds and cast the Greens from the Kosh-tume out of a clear resin like Epoxacast. 690.

Also, the top o the hed is getting closer to that 37% accuracy. Still struggling with the big Eye. Maybe a teensy bit smaller. Got tge forehead bit the length I want, it does what I want ti light coming in on gloss.

Now that a snug fit has been attained with the Greens, a hole saw was used to open up the sticking-out parts where the squid thingies originate. Then filed down.

Also, the Greens were covered in clear plastic wrap and ***YOU GUESSED IT*** FreeForm Air was applied to secure a tight seal. The Greens fit so nicely they dont need to be held in place, but I used a strip o Gorilla tape just to make sure the Greens dont shift/pop out while the freeForm Air is curing.
