Know a good place to get order resin?

I got a call from a friend of mine last night that makes custom writing pens on his lathe, and he has been trying to find a good place to order clear and colored resin. I figured I'd toss the question on here and see if anyone had a place they liked and might suggest. He found a kit online that has the resin, but it has all the other basic supplies with it that he already has and doesn't need. Any info is appreciated.

smoothon.com and alumilite.com have the best (IMO) clear resins.

Alumilite is made of awesome!

Their water clear formula is great but it takes an agonizingly long time to cure. :unsure I've cast optical lenses with the stuff.

We use both Allumilite and Smooth-on here at work. Both are
great products but we like to use the smooth-on products a bit better
due to faster cure times as well as working times. You can't go wrong
with either though. They also sell the tints needed to color
the resin to your needs.

Can any one recommend a resin for casting small parts?

Smooth cast 300 or 320 look good. Also, is $73 or $76 a gallon the going price nowadays for casting resin? :confused

I use 305. If you're doing a small run of parts, get a trial kit for $30-ish.

For basic casting resin, especially for small parts I go to jgreer.com. He's local to me so I don't pay shipping, but his prices are great anyways and his casting resin is really nice. I also use his 10:1 purple silicone.

They apparently have their own brand of resin and mold silicone with different types for varying temp. And they carry lots of pewter casting supplies. Has anyone used any of their casting resins and know what they are like compared to the other guys?
