Kmikzeken's Wip (Pic Heavy)

Was able to get a bit more done over the past week or so.  I was wondering what I was going to do regarding shins and armor and then another Hunter (I'm sure he's here on the lair I just never asked his forum name lol) I met at C2E2 this year threw up a facebook post selling his Wolf armor parts.  Those arrived this week and will need some new paint and other modifications to fit the Mr. I suit.  The shins are Manowar's and I'm assuming the rest of the Wolf pieces are as well.

Wolf goodies:  Minus the mine bandolier, the armor pieces look slightly small for the Mr. I suit...

The shins, however, are effing perfect.  Only thing I have to do is repaint the exposed skin area.

After spending the week throwing latex onto the Mr. I suit, today was the day to start painting.  During initial construction I tried those little pom poms and cotton batting to add the different textures and warts to the suit.  I didn't like how those turned out, save for the reshaping of those hideous Mr. I pecs.  Instead, I just used excessive globs of latex to create the warts and other skin tags, which turned out ok.

After Prosaide and a flesh tone came veins...and more flesh tone.

When slicing the pecs open to reshape, I opted to close the gaping hole with latex and turn it into a scar.

This is the skin in it's current state.  I still need to darken the larger spots and fade the scarring some more.

Thanks for looking!

Nice that you were able to get those armor pieces! Skins coming along great. Your airbrushing looks really good!

Thanks for all the kind words!  More work done today.  Much like everything else I've done with this build, I didn't care for the initial paint up of the suit so I threw some more pro-aide on it and went to town.  I wanted to maintain as much of the vein-age as possible so I made sure to just hit all the really fleshy parts with just a layer of flesh ink.  The veins are really toned down now, almost impossible to see on camera...

I also made sure to add a bit more coloring and patterning over the body.   I still have a few more areas to color/shade but as of now I'm a lot happier with the overall paint scheme.

Afterwards I had to throw some of the armor bits on/around the suit just to see...definitely still have some modifications to make on the armor...

The suit is looking awesome guy. Amazing paintjob for your first time. Can't wait to see more. So what kind of custom touches are you gonna put on this bad boy?

@ Justin, right now they just stay on due to thickness of the dread.  I'm sure if I swung the head around they'd start to slowly fall off.  I only threw them on to add weight to the dreads to hopefully make them hang better.   Once painted I may try a more permanent way to keep them attached.

Thanks ZombiXenoHunter!  So far all the armor parts are going to be varied from different films.  The backpack is the only thing I don't have mapped out yet, so that might be completely scratch built.  Once I get the rest of the fleshy bits done I'm also going to give a shot at an animatronic cannon...as if this build wasn't daunting enough...

Nice. I'm waiting for my dreads and rings in the mail so I was just wondering. I like that you put your pred mask as ur profile pic!

So today I've managed to still be awake when the sun is up and it's beautiful outside so I took the skin out and sprayed on the perma-wet.  I also took advantage of the natural lighting and snapped some more pictures.  I can finally say I'm happy with the suit overall and can hang it up for the time being.  Also, ignore the incredibly visible seam lines...done on purpose as those areas will be hidden and hopefully will ease the comfort of wearing the suit...

Looking great. I used this vid on painting the bio once you are ready to paint it up. I had a spare bio i used to try out my painting skills and it turned out great.

hope that helps when the time comes. Keep up the great work.

Not a huge update today, just managed to get the suit off the duct tape dummy and successfully put it on.  I'm hoping my plan to attach the shin armor will help minimize some of the wrinkling in the crotch area.  Overall very happy with the coloring match of the head/body.  Thanks for looking!
