Thanks everyone! Also thanks for the painting video DJ Akuma!
@ Scanff I have between 8 and 15 self made dread beads (clear/whitish ones) and the rest (opaque white) were purchased. When pulling my last batch of my sculpted dread beads, the mold tore
@ Justin I had the mask foamed by Termokk before it shipped so I didn't even bother trying the X-cut method. The dreads are just glued in with Titebond instant bond super glue. The only issue I had was when holding the mask upside down, some dreads popped out of the dread holes because the dreads weren't fully secured. No other issues since. I read after-the-fact that rubber cement may be the way to go for a stronger dread install. I still have more dreads to install so I may try rubber cement.
I was planning on prepping my Termokk 3.0 bio for paint today and unfortunately discovered that someone who won't be named (NOT me) threw away my tri-laser shroud and left temple air hose detail piece while spring cleaning. As I have leftover clay and mold making materials, I went ahead and tried my hand at sculpting them. The left temple piece is under rubber now, and I started to base out the laser shroud. One step forward, two steps back...
Finished painting the remaining flesh pieces today. The main focus today was re-painting the fleshy bits on the shins to match my color scheme. I also threw the hands, feet, and shins under the perma wet.
I've also been tinkering with the electronics I'm going to need to go animatronic with the cannon. I've been using Honus's Instructables tutorial and so far progress has been slow, but everything is working so far. Here is a picture of the PCB and Arduino setup.
I've also successfully sculpted and molded my tri-laser shroud, just haven't snapped the picture yet as I haven't cleaned it up. Thanks for looking!
Thanks! As I am as impatient as a child, I put some more time in today and gave my skins and armor a test fit to see what needs tweaking. I recently picked up the avp chest/backpack/cannon shoulder armor set from member Eagleskull and have opted to continue my kitbashing with this build. Obviously the gauntlets aren't painted and are held together with duct tape, the electronics are nowhere near completion, and the bio is still sitting untouched. The strap system I set up to hold on the backpack turned out to be too short and wouldn't wrap around my chest so that's why the cannon is almost falling off my body. But hot damn am I happy with this build so far. Here are a few pictures of me geeking out. Thanks for looking!
Silver magaic? Lol. Nice suit man. Simply amazing work. I really wish I had all the money needed to make such a build. But im only 17. I'll be 18 in 5 months. I probably won't be on the lair for a while
Worked a bit more on the Bio today, filled some of the larger holes with Bondo and finished the wiring for my tri-lasers. After hours of fidgeting with lining up the lasers, I managed to burn them out (go figure) so I picked up some LEDs instead. My Bio didn't come with the left cheek hose housing so I took the opportunity to be creative. I picked up a latching momentary push button, drilled out a hole in the cheek, and mounted the push button. The battery pack is epoxied into the bio and connected to the push button (obviously lol). Gives me a nice hidden button that I can turn on/off while in costume without any problems.
I threw some primer on the bio, still have a lot of sanding to do around the tri laser shroud. The paint for the bio should be in on Monday so if I can find some time over the next few days to sand/re-prime, I should be able to wrap the bio up by Tuesday. Thanks for looking!
Finished painting the bio and installing magnets in the bio/mask. I shot paint through the spray gun and tried to use similar techniques found in Jamie Grove's Real Metal Effects video over on the Stan Winston School website. I really liked the initial texturing that I was getting with the bio as I was painting, unfortunately as the paint dried it smoothed itself out. Regardless, I'm still pleased with the outcome. All that is left is re-wiring the LEDs and installing the visor.

I also had some more dreads come in and they are now added to the mask, just no pictures yet. Thanks for looking!
