Kirk's Chair with PICS

[Lost in Trek]

Well this all started with a Madison replica kit I got from TOSPHASER. He has them available from time to time in the JY. Then I got the rest of the chair in kit form from another board member here. This is what it looked like when I opened the boxes.

After several weeks and lots of putty and paint I now have this sitting in my prop room.

I was a little worried about attempting this kit as I have no wood working experience. However, I found that, with patience, everything went together quite well.

If anyone has questions about the build up of this piece let me know. Trust me... If I can do this anyone can do this.

Thanks guys. To answer a couple of questions.... Yes, the chair does swivel. It will also return to center just as the original chair did. And yes it's made for sitting in.

Didn't know micdavis was still offering these kits. They are really well made and all in all pretty easy to assemble. Hardest part was column between the chair and the base. Wrapping hard board around the column was a little tricky. But using straps made the job a little easier.

This really was a dream project. Thanks to micdavis and tosphaser!! Both were very helpful and considerate when it came to answering questions.

That's a big NO. But who cares, the coolness factor out weighs that by leaps and bounds.
