Killzone 2 - Helghast help needed

I'm currently planning my next costume which is the Helghast common soldier from the video game Killzone 2. The breathing mask is getting commissionned as we talk by a 3D modeller, but I need help for the helmet and the glasses.

I hearded the MICH helmet could do the job with some Bondo, or a German helmet. The problem is that German replica helmets are rare, even unexistant.

For the glasses I found these :

So what do you guys think? Should I get other things?

Looks like this thread got lost, but I still need help before ordering both of these.

Anyone got an advice on this?

What the main difference between MICH and PASGT? I can't see it xD

And those German helmets are way too pricey for me, 90 euros :S

What's nice with the MICH (and probablu the PASGT) is that there're a lot of fiberglass replicas on eBay for airsofting. It would cut the weight, and would be easier to dremel some details in it than steel... ^^

Pasgt is what swat generally wears --that doesn't matter though lol.

PASGTS are mainly bigger, and the brim extends a bit more.

The Pasgt should give you some more room too, but it might be too much room- Not sure how the oxygen mask works. facial wise.

PASGTS is the older style helmets used by the armed forces. The MICH is the new standard issue helmet.

The MICH lacks a brow, is a higher cut, and is lighter. The higher cut is to more easily allow for earsets and also the biggy is to allow a soldier complete range of motion moving their head around. now that collar armor is a regular thing soldiers couldn't look up all the way because the PASGT would hit the collar armor, especially when in the prone position.

Thus ends today's lesson, lol. Sorry, I just started doing work on body armor design, so I've learned a lot more than I need to in the last few months.

To the subject on hand- if you could get your hands on a rough cast of a SST helmet, I think that might be more in line with the general shape of this helmet. Just grind away some details and build up where necessary.

At one point last year i was gonna tackle this helmet and mask myself. However, i was gonna make the goggles and gas mask all one piece. I was gonna use one of these... http://cgi.ebay.com/SWAT-Military-PASGT-Airsoft-Kevlar-M88-HELMET-HT-10-OD_W0QQitemZ280251346894QQihZ018QQcategoryZ36068QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

as a base for the helmet. It was as close to the look as i could find and a little bondo goes a long way if you know what i mean.

Good luck with this project. Id love to see the final results.

I would recommend you look into Jin-Roh. Very similar suits and you could easily customize for a Helghast armor. Here is a picture of my Jin-Roh suit.

Hope that helps out a lil!

Yeah but the Helghast helmet looks more like a PASGT than a M42 or a "Jin Roh". Like less curvy on the sides.

Is that a NAS Jin Roh?

You are probably better off using a Starship Trooper helmet. They seem to be closer than some of the current military helmets.

Anyone know where I could get a SST helmet other than reelclothes?

I'd need a cheap one, not a "screen-used" or somethin.

I recommend buying a cheap MICH helmet from either a surplus or airsoft store and work from there. The helmet looks close enough to a MICH that with a little modding you should be able to get it to match. Here's on site that sells various kinds of MICH replicas: Head Wear

You guys are only about 2 years to late for this thread, but oh well. I do wish someone made a serious Hellghast though.
