Kick-Ass is awesome!

Just saw the movie and liked it, but Kickass was a big goof. He couldn't save a cat, brought a stick to a knife fight, and lead the badguys right to the guy they were looking for. He should be called Dumb Azz.

And then he suddenly can fly a jet pack and is willing to massacre people. " Here read this booklet on 5 minute character development".

And for a movie goof, when he was shirtless there were no scars from all the metal that was put in.

I would have rather seen a movie about BD and HG.

Dumb Azz, very fitting!

Yeah HG was the backdoor star!

Have seen it twice. With two different people.

Hated the Jet Pack... but what are you gonna do? Didn't ruin the movie for me ... but it would've ratcheted up from an 8.50 to 9.25 -9.50 on my scale if they'd found another - and better - Dues ex Machina [sp] to bring the good guys victory.

I have no problem in believing that an eleven year old trained from 5 yrs. of age
by a madman could be an effective killer.

That said, there were implausable moments of "hyper-reality" that had me :rolleyes.... the running magazine exchange stands out in my mind.

So? It's a movie. I'll file it under "She's an eleven year old bad-ass."

Jet: I liked Sky High. My 8 year old daughter loves the movie and watches it whenever she runs across it being broadcast.

I really enjoyed Kick Ass. My daughtter would love it and HG, but I would never let her watch it. :lol

I don't care if it broke some "law" of screen-writing. I was highly entertained.

An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge was the first time I saw the "Death Card" knowingly and plausably used. I'm still P.O.ed about it 30+ years later.:lol

I finally saw this last weeeknd and this is where I fall in the whole "could it have happened" arena:

It is interesting to note, everyone here is saying, she'd get her ass kicked in real life because she's just a little girl. Doesn't matter how much training she has, yadda-yadda. Your all exactly right. The movie even shows that.

When she was fighting with weapons from distance, she did well. When she went toe to toe with D'Amico, she got the crap kicked out of her. That's what one would expect, and that's what happened.

I don't have a problem with some of the hyper-reality stuff. It's what people expect in a good ass-kicking scene. It's not as fun to watch if she just hides behind a cabinet and snipes bad guys one by one.

To me it was grounded in reality (no radio acctive spiders and no exiles from a distant world who draw their power from the sun) and I bought it. In "reality reality" however, David would have gotten his butt kicked in the first 3 on 1 fight outside of the convenience store. That's just not a fun movie.

Just watched it for the umpteenth time on my iPhone during the flight back home yesterday. Love the music too.

Like the movie a lot. The jetpack steps out of the realm I think that was established. I wonder if I was the only one laughing when NC was on fire.

CHILD, GO TO KRYPTONITEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH! :lol

Red Myst's looks in the car kill me too.

Yes, jetpack was corny, but watching bazooka dude and the other two goons get it in slo-mo gives me chills every time I watch it.
