Kick-Ass Baton Holsters

Hey guys, I'm quite new to all of this replica making stuff. I have a question for some of the more experienced guys like yourselves.

I'm trying to make the baton holsters that Kick-Ass to attach to the back of my suit, but I want to know how I can make them/what material to use.

My plan is to try and get a small cut of faux leather and bend in the edges to form two hoops on either side, glue it down and then it should be formed. Then glue on some nail tops to make it look like it's nailed to the suit.

What I plan to do is stick some velcro on the back of the suit and just attach it that way, then I can take it on and off with ease, which is a bonus as to do some lavatorial business you need to pull down a zip...at the back.

What do you guys think I should do?

Here's a picture of the holsters:

In some scenes where he reaches for his batons to pull them out (examples being when he's messing around in front of his mirror, or the scene from which your screen shot came) you can see on his chest, a small plate that sticks up when he pokes his chest out. It's seen again when he leans forward on his back. I think the holster is on a shoulder pad set up, with a hole in the back of his suit for the tubes to stick out. As far as them not falling thru.. I'm chalking that up to movie magic. Something in the tubes to make sure the sticks are in a fixed position and can't fall thru the bottom.

I'd say simple friction is what keeps the sticks from falling. If the tubes are small enough then there'll be enough friction to keep the sticks in fine I think.

And no Adam I haven't tried the suit from the comic :)
