Kevin's scatter build thread

i agree with you guys, i like collecting used figures. i like them to have their real weapons though. the one thing i like about played with figures is they were once someones toy. someone had countless adventures with them and treasured them. how they ended up in the collectors shop or on eBay is another story. but i like holding on to them knowing they were once important to someone.

the only thing i would like to do is invest in acouple of those UV protected acrylic boxes like AFA uses to grade their figures. once i invest in a white leia, and storm trooper luke i really dont want them turning yellow on me...

chaim is you really go have the jawa, holy crap!!

i thought something looked different inside there. i always thought of it deep and dark. the scene where obi wan is in the death star hall way and pulls the saber off his belt you can see how deep it is.

i plan on purchasing a FX version of romans saber one day, but hope i can get the static part that goes inside the emitter.

your very lucky kevin to get one of those, i really want this thing. you know reading your thread is getting me into so much trouble!! financially!! lol

keep up the great work bud
:D me too!

Still have a few more projects. Vader, Boba and the target tfa stormtrooper helmets as well as romans graflex and anakin starkillers v2 uni body. Those projects are on my bench and we are all still awaiting our sabers. Can't forget about R2 who's been patiently waiting. I keep his dome in the box so he can't see me work on everyone else's props. Lol I also turned his speakers off so he can't yell at me

It's not star wars, well I think they may have used one like it on a set. Lol
This will be a future batphone. I have been trying to find one for a while now that still works

Shapeways.com feedback. See for yourself. This is my new grill to finish my ANH DL 44. It needs to be painted but fits like a glove. Actually it doesn't really need to be painted but I will finish it anyway.

I think I like it.

I also received my 3d parts to finish another vader. Here are the 2 side by side for comparison

With the help of Roy's parts, I am rebuilding my parks saber to an ESB. You can see these are an exact match however I'm not sure about parks finish on the shroud. Do I need to be more generous with the wrinkle paint?

I may have that loose vinyl cape in a stash box together with Vader'sblack vinyl cape, yet both figures were replaced with cloth variants, which I found loose on ebay ... now I have enough vintage Jawa's with cloth capes to carry R2-D2 back to their Sandcrawler :)

wow, what a collection. Looks like I may be close. Any thoughts on the mpp shroud finish?

That's teecrooz collection not mine and yes his is a true vintage shroud ... those vintage wrinkles are sometimes less refined than when you use new wrinkle spray :wacko

From the excellent advise and tutorials from the experts, I have put this back together with some modifications. I removed the logo as well as the clamp handle. Roys parts should arrive any day and then I can finish it. For now, parks exacta card is just a place holder.

Thank you Chaïm, Tom and Dann. I was hoping I would get your experienced advise on this. You didn't let me down. (y)cheers

I am going to paint the grill and weather it a bit. Just a couple more touch ups as well to the rest but I'm pretty close. Did you see my toy's?

idk how i missed it, i had to scroll up. looks like you got even more on those shelfs!! :thumbsup

the dl-44 and parks look great!! boy i love that saber!
Thank you. I love that saber as well, it's a true credit to those who really stepped up with their expertise and knowledge on how to assemble it correctly. I just put it together. The dl44 was a lot of research but paid off. I'm happy with the finished look.

I'm in love with your DL-44 :love freakin' excellent work!

Really enjoyed reading the post along with the your progress.

This bad boy is next on my list so I'm reading as much as I can.
Also i was looking into the Todds kit, however after seeing this and having the tools I have, I may have to go a different route. Todds has some great pieces and easy to acquire, so if I had the proper tools I wouldn't hesitate.

Very kind, thank you.
I believe there are other alternatives than todds as far as the barrel part goes. The rest of his kit was great to work with with the exception of the grill. I recommend the Shapeways.com one as long as you use a denix that is. BE sure to post when you start the build. The best of luck to you.
Kevin

Thanks bud, and will do!

Im looking into Denixs' right now, funny enough. Just can't beat the feel of real metal in your hands.
