I recently completed a DT-29 blaster scratchbuild for a friend who's making a Director Krennic costume. Special thanks to Harley112 who posted his drawings of the blaster here.

I used layers of 4.8mm and 3mm sintra to make up the main blaster body and then used 3mm balsa for the wooden parts. The lines were scored onto the balsa with a pencil. I used two different diameter PVC tubes for the barrel and a fluorescent tube starter for the tip. Detailing was done with a 1mm plastic sheet which I cut into small strips.

I searched high and low for toy guns/rifles with scopes similar to the actual prop but couldn't find any. But I found dusters with a tapered handle which looked similar, so I bought two, cut the handles off and joined them together. Trimmed them to the appropriate length and I had my scope.

The main blaster body and scope were spray painted with chrome which was then sealed with some Pledge Floor Care. The balsa was stained and then sprayed with matte clear.

I also made a holster for him out of nice thick cowhide. Since the blaster needed to fit snugly inside, I looked at some Youtube videos for tutorials on how to wetform holsters. For a first time effort, I thought it looks decent.

Lastly, I made a custom stand out of some leftover sintra.

Its not 100% accurate, but if its holstered, it should look the part. :)
