Just scored a TA-1 Battlestar CIC phone -Good price?

Not to bad of a price, it looks beat up but your going to paint it anyway. I paid $57 for mine but came with te case, manual and was Basicaly brand new.

The big plus for me is that most folk won't ship these out of the US.

I think I paid 65-70ish on average for the 4 I have. All mine were confirmed as working units before purchase and tested good when I got them.

I've got three of them. Paid $15.00 for the first one in good cosmetic shape with a broken carry case a couple of years ago. The guy threw in a second one in less-than-great cosmetic shape (missing parts) just in case I needed parts to repair the first one. I didn't care if it worked but who was I to argue?. Paid $12.00 for the third one with an intact carry case this year at the Dayton HamVention flea market. Talked the guy down from $20.00 to do it. The rubber cover over the button is split on one side; otherwise it's in really good shape.

I paid $50 for mine and it shocked the bejeezus out of me when I tested it to see if the generator worked. :lol

Bought a cradle for it from Moff Man - still have yet to paint them both.

I've got 1 of mine pulled apart. I haven't been able to convert it to a regular phone & my bud thats a high level electronics tech in the navy wont be able to take a look at it for me till around xmas. I've got 2 "answer only" phones to gut and try and get in a TA-1 or a 954 and if that fails... Think Geek sells a retro bluetooth handset that I know the electronics will fit..... but changes to accomodate the charging port & crossing fingers that the blue tooth can talk through the metal body of the phone will have to be done.

Mine will need a paint job as it is olive drab now. Has anyone found a good match for the CIC color? Hard to tell but it looks like a dark grey body, black ear/mouth pieces and silver clip...
