Just got me a lasercutter in Oz! What should I cut?

I just received a new toy, a 130Watt lasercutter and have been setting it up and putting it through its paces.
I'm looking for some suggestions for something to make with it to test it out. It has a large cutting bed, about A0 size, any good suggestions for a test project with it?

You could do some wooden models, would be a good test and could double as gifts.

I have a 90 watt laser with a 16"x 24" bed and used it to help a friend of mine with his Thor costume for Dragon Con this year. We were cutting and engraving on cratf/EVA foam, all thicknesses between 2 mm to 1/2" floor mats. It took a little trial and error, but with it set at .5% power, we were able to burn decorative lines that wouldn't open up when he heat formed it. For cutting through the foam I had it set at 10% power and made 2 passes to avoid melting it too much or charring it. All of the armor on the costume you see was cut/engraved with the laser and it turned out great. We even engraved the disks which were 3D printed PLA..

Thanks, that is great information, I will have a go at cutting and engraving some EVA foam.

It won't cut steel, but it will cut fabric, leather, plastics, foam, wood, MDF etc.

If anyone in Australia wants something cut for free while I am testing it out, I'm happy to oblige.
