Jurassic Park Replicas Coming From Paragon FX Group, plus! (UPDATED Post # 11)

My understanding is that this is an officially
Licensed product and that Paragon only have license to sell in the USA. I imagine a global license would cost them WAY more.
Look into shipping agents or freight forwarders?
I’ve used MyUS.com when a US seller doesn’t offer international shipping. You get a local US mailing address (preferably use a company in a state that doesn’t charge US Sales Tax). They receive the package, slap your international address on it and send it on. You end up paying extra shipping costs of course but in the broader scheme it can be worth it.
I’ve done it maybe half a dozen times - even done it for Amazon stuff that isn’t sold in Australia like the Echo Frames smart glasses.
Thanks for the detailed reply, will look in to it.

There are pre-orders up on bigbadtoystore and sideshow so you could try and see if it will let you through the checkout process.

I had paid for the Chronicle Collectibles can, which as we all know nobody ever got. I never got a refund either. I have to say, it makes me feel a bit uneasy to discover the Business Admin Manager for Paragon FX was the General Manger for Chronicle Collectibles.

Looking at your posts, you seem to have an axe to grind with Chronicle. Deservingly so if you lost money but I'm afraid my thread is not the proper place to have your exorcism.

We've actually had a couple old employees from Chronicle. We've also had employees from other replica companies who've come and gone.
Not much I can do if that makes you uncomfortable. It's not at all uncommon for those who do what we do to know one another and work between companies. You'd see this in any specialized business.

Look, this is simple. Paragon FX Group was started by me and one other RPF member who's never even worked in the entertainment industry. That's it. Period. I've been on this forum for almost 25 years and my reputation is beyond reproach. I am the Director of operations at Paragon. The last word. So, I'm more than qualified to squash this now.

Neither myself nor my partner had any part of Chronicle. The speculation is absolutely absurd. No part of Chronicle's former ownership has anything to do with us. Period.

No, I am not going to fire our admin for simply having worked with another company. No, I'm not going to cancel someone for the sins of the father. Yes, this means, you may have to pass us by if my explanation is not acceptable to you.

I am curious. What exactly gives you pause? Paragon does not pre-sale anything at all. All of our runs are self-financed. We only allow soft reserves at 10% as a courtesy and even that is fully refundable at any time for any reason. It's unfortunate you had an issue with another company. However, that has zero to do with us.

Paragon has dozens of high end-pieces in production and has landed complete product lines without ever having taken the first cent from anyone to make one of these runs happen. We've been grinding pretty steady for 24 months, now. Unfortunately, this has made for a bit of professional jealousy among a few camps out there. I'll presume you have no part in that...

So, what exactly is the point of your post or have I assuaged your concerns? Our phone number is listed on our site should you wish to converse with me personally. Feel free to message me with your number and I'll gladly ring you but kindly stop the inference that my company has anything to do with Chronicle. It offends me and it's patently false.

I wouldn't call it an axe to grind, more a case of once bitten twice shy. I had over $2000 in preordered Chronicle items. The only one I couldn't recover my preorder on was the cryo can. Then, I come across a can being sold by a brand new company, and find they are staffed with someone who was in a leadership position at Chronicle, now producing a replica of the same prop. You've read my post as an accusation. I actually wanted to say a lot more, but instead I simply posted what I found and what my experience was, in an attempt to avoid it looking like an accusation while hopefully getting some sort of response. I guess that failed.

I've been a member of this forum for a long time, even though it says "new member". I don't know how being here since 2011 is new, but I lurk and don't post often as my focus was in statues. But I've been here a long time. I'm not just some guy off the street trying to stir up trouble.

In any case, you have to understand I don't know your company, and I've never bought from you. I'm trying to figure out if you are as you say, a completely different one that has brought in staff from Chronicle (perfectly fine), or a rebranded Chronicle (in which I would never do business with again). It was a sacrifice I had made to save for the preorders with Chronicle I had, and nearly losing all of that save for my continual efforts to recover what I did, would have been absolutely crushing to me. So yes, to see that name associated with your business via a high level employee gives me reservations because of my experience with that company. That said, I was hoping someone would reply with a defense, so perhaps to your surprise your response does help a lot. And I know for a fact I'm not the only one who had this fear, so I'm happy to be the one to put their blood in the water if it can settle the matter for myself and others.

I get the impression you think I'm a troll trying to start rumors, or part of some cohort of competitors trying to stop you from growing. But, in fact I'm a potential customer that had an order page on Sideshow's site on the last page of the checkout, who simply was worried I would be repeating history, and started doing some Google searches to see if there was any connection. And while I've really, really wanted a cryo can for so many years now, if it were to turn out to be the case that I was giving another dime to some relaunch of Chronicle for an item I already purchased and never received, that would have been a bridge too far for me. I'm sure you can understand that.

I guess that it offends you so much to be questioned in association to Chronicle means you have as bad a taste in your mouth from them as I do. We may not be so far apart here after all. Thanks for addressing my post.

Rylos is NOT associated to Chronicle, and I am frankly shocked that someone who has been here since 2011, has not heard of Rylo. If it helps to pacify your concerns, I (and just about every other member here will stand with me in saying this) can attest to his character, his sales history, and his quality. You WILL NOT find a more upstanding member in this hobby. PERIOD!

Thank you, I appreciate it. That's good to hear.

therpf is not my main home. I come to lurk typically, from time to time on certain items in the hobby, but not consistently.

Just know you are buying from one of the best and his quality is above top notch.

Avenger... if you don't know Michael Bergeron (formerly Orange_Blend), just know I, and everyone else, wouldn't hesitate to put him up there in the top 5 most trustworthy memebers on this site. So, if someone with Michael's rep is willing to go to bat for Rylo, that speaks volumes on Rylo's character. ;)

You guys certainly speak highly of him, and given that and his response, I'm satisfied if he's this involved in the company my concerns aren't warranted. Sorry to hyjack the thread. Chronicle was by far the worst experience I've dealt with in the collectibles industry, and I just couldn't go through buying the piece if that company's ownership had anything to do with this cryo can, no matter how bad I want it.

Again, thanks for the replies.

You are certainly a noob here if you have never heard of Rylo and his hundreds, if not thousands of successful runs here.

Simply put he is not only a master craftsman and businessman but a Legend on this board

Regardless you seem to have missed the entire point of Paragons business model of not taking a dime from you untill the item is in hand and in stock

Thank you for the kind words, guys. I was having a busy day yesterday and was unable to circle back around to this thread. Gotta say, it made me smile to see that everything was sorted in my absence. There's a lot more that I could add here but let's let this one go. Well, with just a couple thoughts.

I was discussing these last few comments with our art director, Tyler and he mentioned, "Why would anyone actually think this, Nobody dislikes a defunct company more than us!? They make everything harder. It's harder to get licenses and even harder for a new company to build a client base."

Simple and to the point:

Paragon spent millions building inventory and partnering with studios long before most people even knew we existed. We wanted to show up from nowhere with product in hand because nobody else ever has. Not in this space.

You can't buy from us in pre-sale even if you wanted. Our runs will happen without the first order having been taken. Think about that for a second. It means we are 100% content to earn each and every customer by trust and word of mouth. We are content to wait. We'll pay for it; you give us a chance. Yes, this will take time. We're cool with that.

Now, that's not just sanctimonious babble, those are hard facts. Our licenses are paid in full. Our product lines are paid in full. We don't put a product out there and fish for a year or longer (while taking pre-sales) before you ever even see it. We're working about a year ahead and making an effort to turn this old way of doing things around. We even own our own offices and temperature-controlled warehouse. I tell you all of this for no other reason than to punctuate; we're pretty damn sorted.

Stop giving companies your money up front and you won't get disappointed or even remotely stand a chance of getting ripped off. Simple as that. You can't even soft reserve with us until we've got an item practically through production. Even then, it's 10% and that is fully refundable at any time for any reason. This is done as a courtesy and by your request. I didn't even want to do that but some people just want to know they've secured a place in line.

Quite simply. You cannot lose money with our model. The runs will happen without you. Now, of course we want business when we ring the dinner bell, but the point is; they're gonna happen regardless.

So, all of that said, we're left with Avenger's concerns.

I'm not holding a former secretary (office mgr.) responsible for their bosses' actions. We're going to work with model makers, artists and any number of people who have held positions at other companies, but we won't be recycling former execs. That's just absurd. We've got that in hand. All the items you see us pumping out have been designed and packaged by 2 guys. Once Paragon was formed by me and the other partner I mentioned, Tyler joined us. He and I do the heavy lifting; we have a support staff and that's it.

Now. After all of that. If someone is still uncomfortable with us. Politely pass us by. It's okay.

Again, thanks to those who chimed in and sent messages. I return you to the arts!

How do you guys feel about an RPF Q&A? Do we need to do that? Start a new thread with questions about whatever?

That would be great and also help to not clutter up product specific threads

Let's get a Q&A going!

Like what are the chances Paragon FX will be obtaining licences like Marvel or Star Wars?

Many of us are dying for a reputable replica company like Paragon to take over from these other guys.

I love the idea of a Q&A. If nothing else, there's products that have never gotten licensed replicas I'd love to inquire about.

As others have stated, I'm shocked that you've been a member of this forum since 2011, and have an interest in JP props (and especially the Cryo Can), and you've never heard of Rylo... That just boggles my mind...

If anyone was to ask most of us who the most reputable seller is on this forum, I'd bet most of us would have him in the top 5 (if not #1).

I've been burned by people on this forum (none of which I believe was intentional, just people getting in too deep and not being about to get out of it), and I've seen lots of other stories. But never have I heard even a single complaint about Rylo, his work, or his ability to come through with a product.

I already own one of his JP canes, and two of his Cryo Cans from long past runs, and I'm STILL going to get in on these because I love how much more they've been improved. (Elephant mosquito in 'amber'? Oh yeah... )

I had never heard of Paragon before reading this thread just today (not sure how I missed it!), but seeing this from Rylo:
"Look, this is simple. Paragon FX Group was started by me and..."
All doubts vanished....

He has nothing to do with any other companies that might have failed to produce product...
If you like the items they are offering, buy them... You will NOT be disappointed.

Heads-up! The topic of a dual or bi-level stand has come up a couple times. I'd done something similar years ago...
Anyway, Here's the stand I mentioned that is perfect for cryos. (y)

This seems a more appropriate thread for this.
