Hey just curious if there are any Jurassic park raincoats out there? Like the one Nedry wears yellow with the small JP logo on the front and a big one on the back...maybe a little "spitter" distressing :p
Just thought it would be a cool project for some one to make for us JP collectors :)

I was at Universal Studios after the film opened and saw Nedry's raincoat up close and personal. It was a shiny vinal rain slicker with a large vinal logo sticker applied to the back and a small one on the front.

A very simple piece of wardrobe to put together provided the slicker is made of the shiny vinal and not the flat finish. And, if you need JP logo stickers, contact Blackbok and he'll hook you up. ;)

they sell JP rain ponchos at universal studios. not quite screen accurate but cool to keep in your jeep in case you've left the rag top at home i guess.

I think we've crossed the full spectrum of prop collecting all in one film- from one of the coolest, functional, machined metal props of any film, and one that actually drives the plot; to a rain coat! :cool

I made a few of the raincoats, harbor freight sells rain suits that have a pretty accurate coat, not quite as shiny as the screen used ones, but they do have the black buttons with pockets. Here's the only pic I have of one, I'll snap some more soon.

Yeah, the flashlights are cool... cooler than the radios, but not as cool as the NVG's...

Even if these flashlights never will be casted, because they are so expensive and will be expensive for the next years... yes, even then someone could finally start working on the JP NVG's... Anyone?!? If I say "please"? Please with marshmallows? :lol

Harbor Freight also has mail order, and the large and xlarge complete yellow rainsuits are only $7.59! (as I recall from reading it last night). Just google harbor freight and then search for 'rain suit'.

Any Tips on getting the stickers made? Already got the coat, just trying to find a good way to do the stickers or decals.

If someone can do the stickers, I can get the coats. I would even be up for a trade of sorts.

There is/was a guy on eBay selling the raincoats, but all the questions I asked went unanswered. I wasn't interesting in buying blindly so I left it.

Has anyone been able to find the logo vinyls for the raincoat?

All the ones available on the net are either too small or too inaccurate. So I would suggest you could do what I did, make your own:
    diffversions.jpg
The top version is the one used on the raincoat.
That way you can easily edit it and change it into any version seen in the film :) Making this particular version only cost me $125(buying a poster and getting it scanned), definitely worth the cost, being able to create a super accurate vectorized JP logo.

I did a little digging and was able to figure out the brand of raincoat used in the movie. (At least for this one particular coat)

Propstore is selling a size XL raincoat used in the production, and has several hi-res photos. Here's a link to the sale page.

Luckily one of the views shows a tag that says: 2W Protective Clothing along with the size of the coat. 2W seems to make a lot of these, but they don't seem to differ much from brand to brand anyway. There are some other nice little details shown in this gallery, like the air vents in the back, and the fabric lined collar.

I've already purchased a 2W coat (prop store had an earlier auction that also showed the tag), they are the exact same as the Harbor Freight jackets (probably same supplier). They also lack the armpit gussets, so still not 100% accurate. They must have changed the style over the years, maybe cheapened them a bit?

I own a set of 2 PU yellow raincoats (random buy in a sale) and I'm looking for the right way to get the logo on the front and the back. Has anyone gotten any succes with "regular" vinyl stickers? I contacted some sticker companies but they weren't sure if the stickers would hold up on such a flexible surface. I would like to use a coat as my regular raincoat, so they'd have to hold up very well.

Or if you've found another way to succesfully get the logo's on a raincoat, I'd love to hear :D
