Jurassic Park Can Shape

Look for any generic or store-brand whipped cream- they seem to use the older style cans like this. Regarding the notches- they are shallow so just gently sanding with dremel drum or file should smooth them out. Then a coat of white spray paint should cover the notches and text on top dome. That's my plan in any case. My one concern is that the can wall on the whipped cream may be thinner than the shaving cream can. I will find out when I cut it this weekend.

I was hoping to not have to paint it. I might visit some other stores to look for whipped cream canisters that are white with no need to paint. I took a circle on a piece of paper the size of the bottom of the can, and measured the can in the store with the paper.

I went back to Safeway and Supermax and all whipped cream containers have the annoying notches around the rim.

I've had the same experience. Ive checked out numerous stores and numerous brands and they all have the notches. I've come across a few food blogs that had pictures of whipped cream cans with no notches (Clover, Sommer Maid, 365), but they dated back to 2004-2006. Those same brands NOW have the notches. At some point the manufacturing or distribution changed and the notches were added.

Since the supermarket was a fail I decided to do a bit of cutting and painting...
Once the paint dries tomorrow, I'll put my test label on and see how this all looks.

The top looks great !
It should look better once you get the right label. It definitely needs that glossy look.

Re: Jurassic Park can rip offs

Can the blue top/cap of the barbasol can be easily removed,
to replace the white top/cap from the right can, you think ?

Update: Never mind I just looked at the video again and it simply pops off :facepalm

The next item would be the most accurate and quality printable label.

I have been trying to get a top off a Barbasol can and it ain't just poppin off, mate. I purchased a good replica outer can but the spray button was painted blue and immediately started flaking. I'm hoping to replace the button.

Things change, but when I did mine, I got a can at the dollar store with an accurate blue button top on it.

Nevermind. I uset my trusty exacto knife around the cap and got it started without damaging the plastic or the can. Then it gave up and poped off properly.
I think you can see it in this picture.
