Jungle Cruise

The costume designer should be shot.
You do NOT wear a belt with suspenders!

I grabbed the $15 jungle cruise hat from Amazon as it fits the bill *had to have a pun in there, it’s a Jungle Cruise thread!*. I’d love to see any and all progress on anyone’s Frank or Lily costumes from the movie! Also, I know this is the Frank thread, but just in case anyone else can help, my friend loves the cardigan Lily wears at the beginning of the film. Was hoping someone could help me track it down, I know there’s a chance that it’s a custom, but ya never know!

It’s blink and you’ll miss it but I think the pistol Frank uses during the tour and to kill the rat is a Remington New Model Army, or “1858” revolver.

I found this one on the Sterkowski site, but when I click on it and go into the hats, I don't find that color combination. I've sent them an email to ask where that one is, and also sent shots of the Rock's hat and asked if it'd be possible to do a run of that one...

Trader Brandon Skipper Hat

Trader Brandon sells a pretty close enough. It's Sterkowski as well but you can't get this on their site. It's the same as their linen version of the Maciejowka Model 7 linen version here except with a black bill and more expensive.

The only issue is the top part is very deep and billows out unlike the Rock's. So you have to either adjust it every time you put it on, or sew it to where it won't billow out.

I know that many of the extras were wearing clothes from a costume house. One person who was an extra told me his clothes had tags from being used in Titanic.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if most of the lead's gear was made in house including the hat. They obviously wanted to pay homage to "The African Queen" and made a version that would look good on Johnson.

That sweater is a fairly common 1910s-1920s design. It shouldn't be too hard to find someone who will knit one for you on Etsy and such.

FYI - Paco Delgado (costume designer) said that while some of the suits are original from the twentieth century, the costumes for the main characters and the tribals were especially made for the film.

So not gonna be much luck finding this stuff in the wild.

Also, just having watched the flick..... Rock's character wears... up to four layers at one point. Pretty intense for being on the Amazon.
