Anyone ever attempt a model of something like this? Ever a model kit produced?

I know there are small remote control models you can pay to steer at Disneyworld:

That's one of the pieces that Rich and I made for Disney, we patterned all the masters for this, the monorail, the Nautilus, the casey jr ticket booth , main street mini gazeebo, and Mister Toad's Wild Ride vehicle for the 50th anniversary of Disneyland and the 50th aniversary of Disney's 20,000 Leagues under the sea..

I assume you're a skipper at Disneyworld? (I see you're in Florida.)
I'm a huge fan of the ride. Just won a "Picture Gun" that used to be sold at the park (Anaheim).

Even wrote a treatment motion picture version. Of course, getting it read as an unrepresented writer is pretty much impossible. Still I'm very proud of the structure and characters. I think it rings true to the evolving essence of the attraction.

Anyway ... I'm thinking of maybe doing this from scratch, but having a base would probably be a good start. Any ideas?

well the old boats were much rounder and robust then the newer ones, and yes i'm in WDW... I started research for the boat with our old boats( miss them lots) and doc control. everything went fine til i found the first boats in california had pointed sterns as well as bows, and no propeller tunnel, so all that had to be modified... how big are you trying to make this model?

Not sure yet. Something small enough to sit on a desk, thats for sure. No idea what scale. I'd probably like to do an amalgam of the new and old boats. (I like the striped tarps, but I also like the weathered/tan look of the new boats. So I'll probably do the stripes with very subdued/mucked color.)

I'm primarily familiar with the Disneyland boats, growing up in California.

We had the same boats as California once they revised them in the 70's the striped ones, red, blue, and green..

Please note the spot /show lights on the exterior of the boat on these photos. These were added after the DL park started operating after dark :). I did make the lights (labled in pic) for the master patterns, but after more research we learned of this fact and left them off accordingly...Do I check my facts or what lol
Cheers,
Will

Nick - there's already a movie based on Jungle Cruise -- it's called CONGO. It's got the Hippos and everything.
