Jumanji Props

Yes I definetely could create an artwork for the watch if I struggle too much to find one!
And thanks for the history drac :p it's actually quite helpful :).

Concerning the helmet, apparently it's meant to be a tortoise shell but it's a fake one in the movie. I don't think there are any shells that have this flat shape to be honest. But like the knife, it's a fake one ^^

Do you guys have more pictures of the knife by any chance?

Thanks for your help :p

I can assure you, while the one used by the filming crew may have been fake, that the shells of American Snapping Turtles get to be that same size, shape and even flatness...these bad boys sit low to the ground and most people think they are rocks when they see them.

That's good to know! Would be quite cool to own a real one actually xD!

I have seen quite interesting pictures of the helmet too :)

I had a quick look the snapping turtles have small shells, the biggest I found was 12"x12", but I think the helmet is more something like 15"x15", what do you think?

Definitely looks fake. Could have possibly been molded from a real one, but it looks like resin.
The paint chopped away in so many spots and it looks like white resin.... Unless it is white paint on a real shell?
Hmmmmmm....

You know how TV goes, turtles don't look like turtles on screen...that why they uses horses dressed as cows. ;)

Hahaha! Nah but on the website where I found the pictures, it's been said that it was not a real shell xD

"This is a hand made helmet, styled after a turtle shell, and was used on screen by Robin Williams. It has artificial leaves glued on the underside with leather straps. There are several chips in the paint on the top of the helmet from use on set."

Possibly might be the only option, apparently Bulova purchased Westfield sometime in the 1920's and produced watches till the early 60's under that name, officially in 1989 the Westfield brand was cancelled. The Westfield was basically a cheaper version of the mainstream Bulova watches with a lesser jewel count.

From what I read it will be very difficult to get hold of an original if it can be identified as to which model it was, personally I think it may have been the 'Tojan' named model with a metal strap added, the closest I could find.

The auctions that advertised the actual prop called in a 'rusted Timex' but I doubt that was the case unless they changed the face to resemble an older watch maybe? For some reason this has peaked my interest to find the actual watch lol :D

I found this :

Wonder if the watch is a Westfield Trojan ^^

That was the assessment a page back ;)

Yes but I couldn't find a picture of the model until now xD! I still didn't find the real model... Like a proper picture of it!

I suspect it was a hybrid that the art department either concocted or just found when scoring local thrift shops for prop parts.

It's doubtful you will find a picture as all adverts back then were done in the way you see in the picture you posted, and due to the rarity of said watch even though the internet is vast, its not the holder of everything we want, your best bet is to troll local specialist shops dealing in antique watches and the like.

and as said above that was also my thoughts too :D

On further research, it seems like it was, as suggested, a Trojan face, but could have been fitted with a Kenton model strap. Again just a possibility, but with watches of this age you never know as a previous owner may have had the strap replaced and as also previously suggested the prop department may have got it from anywhere in any condition.

I'm working on finding out what's written underneath at the 6 o'clock position I'll let you know if and when I found out.

That's great well done on that one, I just found out earlier today what it said as well hadn't got round to posting lol. Where did you manage to find it? They are a rare watch to come across.

I know, I was doing my daily check on ebay, and I think the seller literally just posted it! I am very lucky!!

This is actually weird, when I am looking for something rare, I most of the time find it within a week xD

Now I wonder what is the coin exactly xD
