Julien’s Upcoming Hero Phaser & Communicator Auction

I have an absolutely genius idea. If every member of the RPF gives me $1,000 I will buy these pieces—and then we will know for certain.

Let me know if you would like my PayPal ID to send me a donation. The satisfaction of your curiosity is certainly worth a non-refundable donation of $1,000, right??

Perhaps a GoFundMe

My generous offer, in the post above, still stands.

I’m a generous and giving person—a “saint”, if you will. I’ll be willing to take this one for the team.

So, it seems that this is the phaser in the hands of the Japanese collector that we’ve heard about. Yutaka Sone, a well-known Japanese artist born in 1965, is identified as the collector who owned this rare phaser before putting it up for auction. Julien’s Auction will include extensive documentation verifying the authenticity and provenance of the TOS hero phaser. This documentation details the phaser’s history, including its repair by Wah Ming Chang and its acquisition by Yutaka Sone in 2013. It has been confirmed that the phaser is being sold either by Sone or his estate. I really thought it was just a myth…

I’m heading to the lobby, anyone need a popcorn refill?

For Classic Star Trek fans this is as big a discovery as when the ROTJ V2 Lightsaber was revealed as still being in existence.

Yep. The uber-phaser. The one with the best close-ups. The Kirk Hero. The one seen in TMOST.

There's a certain irony in that my own hero phaser and communicator builds are based upon the TMOST and Beta, respectively.

And now it looks like both of them may have finally been found.

I just wish that some members from the old guard of this community had lived to see it.

Wow! Yeah I don't know how anyone could fake that epoxy pattern. It's like a fingerprint!
Reminds me of the found vintage corvette shells that were ID’s by the fingerprints still visible in the fiberglass epoxy! (y)
