8 April - Go ahead from Rebellion
23 April - First 3D image from Mike Carroll
7 May - Manufacturing quote from Simoney Badges
9 May - Sketch from Cliff Robinson
16 May - Final 3D image from Mike Carroll
25 May - Paid licencing fee for Dan Dare cap badges
5 June - Commissioned Dan Dare cap badges
This put the belt buckles on hold because there hadn't been enough deposits and I needed to prioritise the Dan Dare cap badges
18 July - Started shipping Dan Dare cap badges
21 July - Approved buckle sketch from Simoney
28 July - Paid moulding fee to Simoney
5 September - First photos of buckle master
6 October - Simoney decide that they cannot produce a buckle sculpt that meets my approval
11 October - Revised 3D image from Mike with flat shield area
14 October - First email from Brad at

15 October - Brad mills front of buckle with his CNC machine but isn't sure how to do the back
12 December - Brad test casts a complete buckle in Urethane
18 December - Simoney give me address of their Hong Kong contact (this took a while because they thought I might go direct in future but I wasn't prepared to have the resin buckles shipped from Australia to Hong Kong via the UK).
23 December - Two resin masters from Brad arrive in Hong Kong.
2009
16 January - Simoney ask me to deal with their Hong Kong contact direct.
23 January - One of the resin masters has been modified as per my instructions and looks ready to mould.
16 February - Go ahead for sample buckle.
5 March - Received first photos of sample buckle.
15 March - Received six samples.
It's pretty good but I decided that it could be better.
31 March - Factory receives payment for modification to tool and new sample.
Finally (while I'm waiting for the second sample), here are photos of the first sample alongside the SD Studios movie buckle, a screen-used street judge buckle and one of Blad's resin comic buckles.
