Judge Dredd Armor

Thanks!

Here is another update:

I still haven't got my glass stuff. Email the company today when I could expect it. I cant wait to get further on the armor.

This week I have repainted the movie helmet. I was not completely satisfied with the look. Afther a good sanding and a new paintjob it looks like this. The colors are much deeper and the helmet is alot smoother.

I still have to paint the bagde and the hero line. Then I will give it a good clear varnish to give it the extra shine and protection.

Today I received my new motorcycle visor.
I cut it to size to match the nicksdad visor.

Then I used some sanding paper to sand out the bottom line.
This worked out quite good. I was in doubt to paint it silver or to leave it all dark. You can see the visor is still a bit transparant but there is a silver/white line.

The visor is quite flexible but is there a way to make it more flexibel or to make it more narrow so it fits the helmet better?

You could use a heat gun to flex it some? I use a heat gun when I mold my eye pieces to my TK helmet. Just take your time.

Thanks!

Apparently I dont need to flex the visor any more. Today I have test fitted the visor in the helmet. And it fits like a glove!!!

Now I just need to finish the paintjob, then glue in the visor and add some padding.

With the visor in it still fits my head!!! I did not expect that. I hope it will still do afther the padding.

I really enjoyed reading through you thread & I'm looking forward to seeing future updates! Nice job on painting the helmets.

Today I completed the Helmet. It's all padded and still fitting my head!! :)
I have decided I am not going for the thin blue line in the Helmet paint job. I like it better without.
I have received my lawgiver holster. It is a custom made Nerf Holster. But it is perfect for the dredd gun.

It is def not screen accurate. But I am not yet going for screen accuratie.

Still waiting on my fiberglass :( This is taking way to long.

Here are a few test shot my gf made. Bare in mind, that only the Helmet and the gloves are finished.

Another update.

I am not happy with the way the foam turned out. So I have commissioned a dredd movie pep file. I have seen some pictures and the 3d model is looking awesome already.

I did some work on the USAF uniform to make it look like the dredd uniform.
Here are a few pictures of where I am now. The armor in the picture is the foam piece I am not happy with.

Hello there,

That looks great my fellow Dutchman! In order to get a tighter fit of your pants you could stitch an extra elastic narrow fabric to slip your foot into to add tension to the pants before going into those boots. See
at the bottom of the pants in this picture :

if you want to replicate the Movie Costume then get yourself a Navy Blue Unitard that is what was used in the movie, the jacket looks great as does the rest of your build

superb stuff :thumbsup

Thanks!

I am quite slim. So I think a unitard wont look good on me :)
I will get one to put up on a mannequin.

What kind of fasteners (two gold clips) are used on the movie jacket?
