Hey guys, just wanted to share my custom made resin gun like the one used in In the Line of Fire. I made a youtube video so you can see the thing in action. It can be disassembled like the one in the movie, and also has working trigger action. I attached some screen shots as well so you can see the actual one in the film.

A few posts have been removed from this thread as they are off-topic to this prop replica. There was already a thread in the OT forum discussing that other topic and it was closed for its political nature, so that issue will not be debated/discussed on the RPF.

Awesome piece!! This has always been one of my favorite film props! Looks spot-on to the one in the film! Great work!

Kind regards,
Craig

So did you make this yourself, is it one of SD Studios', or is its origin elsewhere ?

A little info in this respect kinda goes along with a showoff thread :)

Thank you. A lot of work went into it so I was thrilled with the outcome. Looks great too when it is displayed with bullets inside.

And yes, this is custom made.

This was a great prop and a cool film. The replica is as cool as this thread is strange. Would love some more info on this piece...?

I suppose the OP could clarify what work he put into this replica that made him so thrilled with the outcome.

It is unfair to give my own opinion without giving the OP the opportunity to chime in first.

Does'nt look like one of Steves

I don't think to many people did these

Anybody know how many versions of these were made

Let me give you the info, to the best of my knowledge, and my opinion on this particular replica.

Steve (SD Studios) originally made a replica of this ‘gun’ based on screenshots etc etc.

Subsequently, through eltee (a member of this board), Frank Rousseau (the original maker of the screen-used prop) sent Steve an original screen-used prop.

With Frank’s blessing, Steve made a mould of that prop and made a limited run of 20 copies, after which the mould would be destroyed.

This would be the most screen-accurate replica around, since all the greeblies etc of the original would deliberately be left on the mould.

I own one of those replicas, and this letter from Steve which accompanied it is self-explanatory.

Now here is a side by side comparison of the OP’s replica, next to mine, one of Steve’s.

And here is another one of Steve’s, owned by Randy (rkpeterson here).

I am very curious to know how some of the deliberately left imperfections appear, exactly, on the OP’s replica.

And I ask again, what work did the OP do on this replica that makes him so thrilled with the outcome ?

Not good

Looks like someone is profiting from someone elses "hardwork"

Well, I have supplied info, and given my opinion.

OP has since logged on & seen the latest posts.

Mods have been made aware of this thread, for whatever may eventually be deemed appropriate.
