Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST Wig Guide

Here's the wig guide I put together for the OST wig. I still need to add pics of the "top wrap", the gold bead, and the pony tail items. :

BACK ITEMS

Rear Brown to Blonde dread's black wrap.
Blonde dread wrap w/ feather.
2 Wraps (Leather or twine?), One with Coin and red wrap.
Skull coin wrap (?)

(I have also noticed some items that appear to be coins in the back pony tail, but the picture quality is absoutly horrible.)
=======================================
LEFT SIDE ITEMS
There is a new black to blonde braid:
blacktoblondebraid1.jpg

That specific braid ends with a feather. (You'll also notive the other feathers in this picture)
blacktoblondefeatherend.jpg

The most obvious addition is the twine wrap, that ends in a feather.
But there is another red wrap behind it, which also ends with a small feather.
In addition, this picture shows another new braid, that ends with small wrap. :

There is a coin that appears to be gold:

There is as a bone looking circle above the twine wrap. There is also another coin poking out. :

There is a dread cuff, which is actualy red and white. :

There is another new blonde braid, with a black wrap at the bottom.
One of the black to brown dreads has a feather attached to it. (You can also see the pony tail items as well.)

RIGHT SIDE

You can see the rear wraps (lol) in this shot, but you can also see the new wraps in the wig.
There is a black wrap with either blonde hair or a feather on one of the black to brown dreads.
It also appears there may be another dark tie on the dread that is below it.

Here you see several of the new changed.
A brown wrap with a feather at the end of the blonde dread, and a small dread cuff above it.
A feather tied in with the red wrap.
(You can also see the other side of the wig's details)

There is also a large cuff on the blonde dread:

Here you can see the new key with white (twine/rope?) wrap.
The red wrap with feather
A bone like object
And a feather.

Here is a closer picture of the red wrap, its feather, and the black wrap.

Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST Wig Guide

Has anyone sourced that cell phone-looking thing yet? :p

For serious... thanks for posting all the reference shots.

Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST Wig Guide

:lol

I swear, that's been every one's first question when looking at this guide. :lol

Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST Wig Guide

Is it just me, or does the sail needle look completely different? It looks like it has a larger eye-base, if that makes sense. Though it could just be the cord. I can't really tell.

Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST Wig Guide

Yes, it is different, it's a few inches shorter now as well. :)

Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST Wig Guide

Good news! After using several military helmets and about 100LBS of weights, I have streched my tricorn to fit over my wig! :D

I have also put together the most complete guide to Jack's new wig available. :D

And then to boot, a member over at KTTC and myself have ID'ed (and purchased :lol ) the combo set of coins used for the "Mickey" dangle. :D

Where did you find the coins for the said Mickey dangle? Great detail work Jodo!

Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST Jack!

Thanks guys!

1qsp, I hope to have some updates next weekend, because finals are this week, and after that I can hands down say I'll be doing some major costuming and propage! :D

Onkel, some CB stuff is super cheap, but some of it is pretty darn good. The CJS rings and nice, as are the vest, pants, and with modification, the coat. :D Mojo's vest is a CB, and it's deffintly my favorite vest our of any of the Jack's. He did a fantastic job on it.

I haven't modified the coat myself yet at all, all of what's when done to it, the extensive dyeing, was done by another Jack. But there's a considerably ammount of "bleach" looking spots on it. So here soon I plan to take an try and blend them into the overall look of the coat. I'm also going to try and get that "golden" look to the tops of the shoulders, and the pockets, etc. And I also need to add the buttons still as well.

As far as size goes....my coat is a Large, and with the other costume peices on, it just fits through the shoulders. But considering how much room the shirt and vest, etc take up, it's deffintly not that bad of a fit. And you also need to relise I have a size 42 chest. So...You know....Most people playing Jack probably aren't that big through the chest, lol.

Thanks... I will give it a try... I will order the next time the CB coat and new buttons...

Problem are the fake-button holes... I read, that its pretty hard to convert the fake holes in usable button holes... Do I need a tailor for this job?

Is there someone out who can tell me (maybe via PM, so we dont have to spam in this thread) all changes and steps, which are needed for a nice CB coat conversion ?!? Thanks guys. Your Cb coats look very cool, btw.

P.S. - Onkel, the original coat didn't have working button holes, so no need to worry!

Ah, ok... Thanks... Now I just need boots and a sword with scabbart... Hopefully I will finish this whole costume project the next months... Im working on it for 3 years now... with little breaks... time to bring this to an end...

Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST Wig Guide

Have you looked at the Halloween sword/scabbard? They're actually pretty good, and cheap, lol.

Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST Wig Guide

Yes, I prefer the platic sword and would do a repaint, but after all, the only ebay seller has only 98% positive feedback and the pirate shop (link is somewhere) got em, but with shipping costs for over $60, a little bit expensive...

But if someone got a toy sword and dont need it, let me know... :love:lol

Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST "Mickey" coins

Wow, during Halloween you can get the toy swords for like $15USD here. :(

I got the "Mickey Dangle" ( :lol) coins today! :D And I can use the gold beads attached to them for the gold bead on the dread with the feather! :D

Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST Wig

The best looking match for the silver key is from Dime Store Emporium dot com item # 49136594 for $2.75 each.

Re: Jodo's Jack Sparrow WIP Thread - OST Wig Key

Yep, I bought the same ones, LOL! :D

I now have the pick of my choice for what key I want in my new wig.
