After seeing Jeff Dunham this weekend in Pittsburgh, (I've never laughed so hard in my life) I started to wonder about the history of his "associates". Anybody here in the puppet business? Anyone ever try to recreate Peanut, Walter, and company?

Great show eh?!

My friend Dragon helped him on Marvin, I think was his name, the super-hero one

we have both of his dvds. The newest one actually shows him make the superhero puppet. Jeff goes to his casting guy, who might be Dragon (I don't remember his name off the top of my head, sorry). jeff even shows us the gizoms in the head that makes it all work. Ahhh...to have a Walter puppet. Imagine the fun...that weird little sarcastic laugh he does... duhheeeeeeeeeeehaaa.

Cool. We don't have that one but we got it for my father-in-law. I'll have to borrow it. :)

Cool! I love the idea of him making his own puppets!! FOr me, he's like Ron White . .you can hear the same jokes for ten+ years, but they're still funny thanks to a pitch perfect delivery!!

Peter Lukas (of AIM) refurbished Peanut a number of years back--it was on his website. He doesn't post much, though, so he might not see this thread.

His puppets have to be custom made. I'd love to buy one, but if it can be verified that Achmed is completely unavailable, I may actually attempt an Achmed sculpt at some point (at least the head!)

I'd definitely have to try to get those eyebrows and eyes to move!

I would love an Achmed. Hell, an Achmed action figure would be even cooler!

I can see it now.

"Coming Soon: Achmed the Dead Terrorist! Yes! Striking fear in the heart's of infidels! With an AK-47 in each hand and explosives around his waist, Achmed charges into a group of... oh wait, he's dead. Never mind!" :eek

I heard back from Puppets and Props, and the owner said that Achmed was Jeff Dunham's intellectual property, and that Puppets and Props could not make replicas for the public.

Once my various Vader-related sculpts are off by bench, I'll attempt an Achmed head sculpt and see how far I can get!

That pretty much goes without saying.

Lots of talented Puppet builders will not take any commissions on Muppet replicas and believed me I've tried! :lol

On the Special Features on his last DVD he actually has a video diary on him building Marvin himself. Pretty cool to watch him come to life. I think he JUST finished it the night before the puppets first performance. Talk about cutting it close!

I swear... there has never been a puppet more insanely hilarious in its look... going from intense anger to utter besh**ted surprise with the pull of two strings. :thumbsup
