Hi all!

We recently finished a replica of Scott Tracy's Thunderbird 1 pilot chair from "Thunderbirds", a project that we started back in 2016!

To create blueprints as accurate to the original as possible, we used Autodesk Maya to model the shape/dimensions of the chair over stills from the series, guessing camera lensing and perspective (having a bunch of the same knobs, switches and kit parts they used on the original helped a lot for this). In the end, we were able to 'tumble' our digital model against 10-odd different still frames of the chair, which told us we must be in the ballpark.

We're sharing the blueprints we created here in case they're useful to any other fans out there (they're laid out to be printed on A4 paper). We also did a little video about the process of making the blueprints and building the chair:

FAB!
