My wife is starting to get into sewing and into this hobby. She wants to make her and I some jedi and sith robes. So I have a question for you experts on this board.

Any help on this subject will be much appreciated. My wife found a website and it 3,000 different types of wool fabrics. So we are not sure which fabirc is the closest to the accurate ones!

What is accurate type of Fabric that we need to make Darth Maul and Obi-Wan?

Where can I buy these fabrics?

Thanks!

This site has some great wool fabrics...

It also talks about the different types of wool, and what the uses are mainly for.

This one looks good for Maul...

Qui-Gon, Mace, EP3 Anakin & Vader all used wool crepe.
Prequel Obi-Wan used a heavy wool twill.

The tunics for Obi-Wan are some sort of loose weave, crinkle gauze type cotton fabric. There's no real way to say what kind of fabric to look for. People have found and used anything from crinkle cotton to bubble gauze, to calcutta linen to homespun stuff.

The Obi-Wan robes were a heavy wool twill as Tony said. Fuzzy on the outside and a pronounced twill weave inside.
