JAWS - The Official Quote Thread

I know every bit of this film by heart so I could rattle off countless lines but here are a few of the more obscure ones:

"This stuff ain't gonna help me in August! The son-of-a-ginks come down here in June! You ain't got one thing on here I ordered. Not a beach umbrella, not a sun lounger, no beach balls! If I can't get service then.." (Brody spills the paint brushes at this point)

"Now we got a bunch of calls about that Karate school, it seems the nine-year-olds have been 'karate-ing' the picket fences. Chief Brody's office."

And from the deleted scenes: "I quit, Mr. Quint, I quit, I ain't goin'. I ain't goin' on that slab after that crazy ol' shahk. I ain't crazy."

And finally one REALLY obscure one: "Twenty-four hours is like three weeks!"

:lol

"...daylight's wastin'."

I say this all the time.

Don't know if there's another thread on this since I just logged in after being in Florida for a week, but the Jaws ride at Universal Orlando is closing January 2. The whole area is being razed and replaced with another Harry Potter section. :thumbsdown

Got mediocre pics of the props, which I truly fear for. Will post later. If I lived down there, I would hang around the garbage every day waiting for Quint's harpoon gun and rod and Brody's jacket to be tossed out with the old cotton
candy. :cry

Farewell and adieu....

Ellen: "You see the kids?"

Martin: "They must be in the back yard."

Ellen: "In Amity you say 'yahd'."

Martin: "There in the yahd...not too fah from de cah. How's that?"

Ellen: "Like you're from New York."

"Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods. This shark, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this island. $10,000 for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing."
