James Bond The Living Daylights Keychain

Okay someone who shall remain nameless is working on a casting of this but I got impatient. I will get his as it's going to be much better quality because of materials but in the meantime I got one off one of the 3D printing services that someone modeled. I think they are from here.

Anyway I received it and I am very happy with it. I am going to add a screen, paint the buttons and add a little red light even though it won't light up.

I have searched thousands of key chains, key chain parts, etc. No luck. I am working on gathering parts to create the very unique key chain. It will be a combo of various key chain parts and scratch/modding, etc.

I also located pics of the Aston Martin DB5 keys from one that was for sale (Yes I know his was not the DB5 in TLD and it is my 2nd favorite Aston from the films, but the DB5 is it.) Anyway I went on Ebay and found vintage British keys that were similar.

The lock picks are the problem. No luck finding anything close. Again I have searched thousands of lock picks, lock pick kits, lock pick pocket knife, etc. and found nothing even remotely close.

The film prop always seems to have the regular looking end of a key sticking out the bottom and seams to be some type of contraption that is like a tubular swiss army pick set.

Anyway any ideas would be helpful. I can't even find the main pick Q shows him.

I am seriously thinking of getting a Macgyver size swiss army knife and modding it to match.

There are not many pics online so I popped in the Blue Ray and took pics with my camera of my TV.

I also uploaded all pics online I found of the real prop and the very rare promotional one they offered. Currently going for over $600 on Ebay. DB5 keys from the sale of one, etc..

Anyone have any clue what this blade is? Based on the thousands of vintage and modern lock picks I have looked at I don't think it is an actual pic and have no clue what it is.

Thanks.

If you have any luck finding the keychain bit-I would love to hear where you source it from. I have been pondering putting one of these together for some time, but just havent done it.

Okay I have been working on this a bit.

No luck on lock pic. Sent it to several lockpick people. They have no clue what it is.

I had to mod the ring at the bottom of the whistle piece as it is not correct to the screen used version. The commercial Phillips version also seems to be wrong except in one pic.

The key ring that was similar broke as soon as I got it so I just used the u clip and scratched the rest.

All very crude so far.

Lovely work so far. I'm currently having a shot at it myself with the electronics included. I'll start a thread when I have anything of substance.

I got side tracked. No progress yet but thank you for the interest.

Hopefully I can get back to this and the phone soon.

Thanks

Hi
surfing about LDL I came about this post..........
You can take out the middle section/shift it forwards, so it will stick out, so you will be able to open the lock.
I have made this quite similar.
I post a photo so you can see my home made lock device.
It has a clock (battery dead), on the side a small switch to turn on the red led.

I also have a Philips keyring finder, as shown in about 8 posts up. ( on photo on the left, about in the middle )
I will put it one of these days on Ebay

Kind Regards, Ronald ( netherlands)

I could draw a 3D model if I was given dimensions, at least approximately.
Well truthfully I have to skills to create the file, but I can't explain to you how dreadfully lazy I am :)

Pretty sure someone mentioned a 3D print on here somewhere, but it doesn't seem to be in the wild. Maybe I might have to model it my damn self. Curses!

Okay I did find one but it was utter jank. :D No holes for the speaker, no rounded edges and just (sigh) really truly terrible. I may have to model one just to stop being so angry about how bad that one was.
