Here is a project that I've been working on for a few months. I'm one of the artists for Artix Entertainment and one of the perks is that we all get to create our own NPC's for the games. I drew mine up a while back and decided to make the real life version for a panel we'll be having at Dragoncon. I learnt a lot from this project. I always enjoyed making little useless things but this was my first "big boy" project and had to learn a lot about materials and techniques. My biggest hurdle was a design error on my part. When I first drew the character I didn't bother with proportions, I just drew what I thought looked good. When the time came to build it for real I found that I had drawn it way too wide. I have a pretty big head but it's a lot thinner than what I had drawn for the NPC. So I decided to go with a more realistic version rather than a 100% accurate game version. I used these forums a lot to pick up techniques and would like to send a huge thanks to everyone who I secretly stalked and learnt from.

And here is my version:
I'm starting the work on the electronics now, it will have a voice changer and little LED that lights up near the mouth when I talk that I cannibalized from a megaphone toy. I'm also trying to figure out the eyes. I thought about EL tape but i think it is beyond my skills. I'll probably go with two small LEDs that will be mounted near the top of the visor.
