Ok I have wanted one of these for a long time. Has anyone ever made one of these? Or is anyone willing to attempt it? I want one. Hopefully the brilliant minds here at the RPF can figure this out!

I think the top was an astromech dome, and the bottom was either ALSO an R2 dome and or with a security cam bubble piece...someone I know has all the known items that populate the whole piece itself...same friend was going to make a full sized one, and got all the parts to make it up, then mold it for people who wanted to make it part of their collection...I didnt think there
d be too much interest, so he shelved it.

The top is an R2 dome. The bottom is a hemisphere.

That's correct PHArchivist.......the bottom was not an R2 head but a black plexi security dome with the lip on it. Sections of the lip were cut into indentions and greeblies attached to that. If you stare at the prop, the bottom is almost perfectly round whereas the top has the egg shape like R2. All the R2 details are also present if you look for them. Lots of items have been identified, but a few are still illusive.

The syringe has been identified: Everette Surgical Syringe (glass and metal)
The obstetrical delivery tongs (simpson forceps)
The test tube clamp (rubber sleeves removed)
A second labratory clamp that only has two wide jaws instead of 3

I think we decided the larger round protrusion was the top of the derwent engine part (IG88 head part)

The only two things I've never been able to find are the weird surgical clamp piece that has the flat "duckbill" looking end and also that round "scissor thumb ring" looking instrument on the other side. The rest is pretty much found.

Let's all put our noggins together and find the other two items. I discovered the simpson forceps and the correct test tube clamps on my own last year and I haven't revisited the project because I couldn't find the last two things.

Dave :)

It's not. It's too small and the shape is wrong.

Also of note all the stickers on the droid are just standard office supply labels (which are often used in detailing ANH sets/vehicles).
