Is there any interest in seeing my replicas of the Walter Mitty wallet?

I was just asked to make a replica wallet of the one in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty for a client.

I was wondering if there would be any interest in me posting what I do to make it here?

I'm sure there are far more experienced leather crafters on this site, but I did a search and didn't see anything about the wallet, so I thought I'd ask and see if it's worth my time or not?

I dunno either, maybe just printing an image on acetate? would be cool for it to be a real negative though...hmm.

I love that idea and thought about it too. I'm not experienced with making negatives though. I'm open to it, I just don't know how I would go about making one.

To make a real negative, you just need a REAL camera (not digital) and a old fashioned camera shop that will still give you the negatives when he processes the film.
Both rare in the 21st century.

Indeed. Does Costco still do that? I'm sure you could find someone online.

You could make something like this, print it or display it on a screen and then take a picture of it with a real camera to get a negative.

P.S. the large object on the photo's left is the sculpture that sits in from of the time life building.

I'd love to see what you come up with, my wallet is in need of replacement so I was planning on making 2 this winter, one for display and one to carry.

I'd love to see what you make.

I'm anxious to pick up screen used or replica Walter Mitty props if anyone knows of any!

Thanks!

Anyone have the movie and can get a higher rez image than what I posted ? That's just one I got off google images.

This has a closer 4 x 6 ratio that a camera would have. I post this as Freely usable by anyone.

making a fake negative is easy enough...

Photoshop the image (pretty sure it has a negative filter), use a printable transparancy, and trim to size.

If the negatives are what's holding it up, I can do that part and use real 35mm negatives. I can provide you with a quantity of negatives in exchange for a finished wallet.

Okay, I've ordered some black and white film and I have a classic 35 mm camera. I'll proceed with producing the negatives and hope the wallet project moves forward.

Now I know why people went to Digital cameras. Trying to use the visual viewfinder to line up the perfect shot INSTEAD of a screen is very difficult.
I've gone through 2 rolls of film already trying to get the negative for this. I'll try again. :)
