Is there a difference between the ROTS, and AOTC royal guard robes, and if so what?

Hey gang, I love the RG's and I always wanted to do on of the costumes, I gave up on the ROTJ version, because wall I like it's look much more, it look like a lot more work, a lot more money, and in the end I wouldn't have easy access to my left arm.

So, I've decided to go with one of the newer looks. But, I can't tell if there is a difference between the AOTC, and ROTS version. So is there a difference, if so what is it, and for goodness sake does anyone have a pattern or ideas of how to make either? Oh, and wall many say the ROTJ ones were velvet, what do you think the new ones were? Oh, and as always pics would be nice.

I've heard There is a difference. I think it has to do with the way its constructed and the slits on the sides. I'm no expert, so hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in.

As far as I know, there IS a difference.

I don't know if I'm correct, but I read that the AOTC version has two slits in the front for it's arms, the ROTS version probably has 4 slits. two for the back and two for the front. The ROTJ version has got only one slit, I think for it's right arm if I am right.

I think there isn't another master difference.

Pretty much it. We've been churning this around for a while at forcepike.net, and that's the conclusion without any real specific info(measurements, angles, etc).

You may want to check out the Artbook to the game "The Force Unleashed", they have a few drawings of a superduperwhatshisname-RGuard nicely showing off the construction.

Hey I have been looking into the royal Guards very heavy and basically, all are velvet for screen accuracy, the AOTC has two slits and cloth wedding gloves where the ROTS has four slits and leather gloves. I am ending up on a ROTS version but really wanted to do and ROTJ but what change dit for me was the force pike tip. It has rows of spikes instead of the disks. But other wise I believe the ROTJ is similar to the AOTC with everything excpet the slits. Hope that helps you out. Cheers!
