Is Sting too big? (Or the viewpoint of a props owner)

As to the ring thing, you know, if it were any ring other than the One, which of course seems to resize itself to it's owner, I would absolutely sit down and work out a 2/3rds sized ring if I wanted to a ring that one of the Hobbit's wore. :)
Wouldn't that be all the more reason to make a hobbit sized One Ring?

Exactly. I see so many people try to make a display of Hobbit items but the items they put in their display is mixed scale. I recently made my on Thorin map because once I took the measurements from Weta's version, the size came just under the size of a sheet of printer paper. And once you tater the edges, it comes out about right. So I bought some water color paper, cut it down, threw it the print, cut the edges, sanded the edges, fold, wrinkle, mutilate, and frame. Good to go. :)

Remorazz, That would be so if I were wanting to own the Ring from an inside perspective. But from an outside or sort of found object perspective, then the ring would size to me. Assuming, of course, that it wanted me to be it's owner. :)

Moviefreak, Hahahaha...that did give a some some chucklesome moments there. Nice. Thanks for the laugh.

When I make a thread that fails, I ensure that it does so on multiple levels. It's all about thoroughness.

Just my two pence worth. It is way to big in the movie. The description in the book states that it is a small dagger, and Bilbo was able to hide it in his breeches. More like the Royal Marines dagger maybe? It also carried no engraving when found. However I do love the movie version and reckon by measuring certain parts in both the above photos that it is around 603mm long or around 24 inches. (i measured the width of Frodo ( E Wood) eye as this is the most consistent part of a human body among us all. Then all the parts of the sword then scaled it up by measuring my families eyes ( mine ,my wife's and oldest daughters. (unsurprisingly there was no difference) and used the difference to scale up the measurements in the ).. I rounded it to the nearest whole and these measurements do seem to be quite good.
