Is Marco Enterprises still around?

I must say, he was a WEIRD dude. He'd fill his catalogs with political statements, pictures of amputee children, and near the end of his business he said he was not going to be doing business until Clinton got out of office. He sort of came across like the Unabomber.

Yeah, I remember that. Every catalog up to when he stopped had more and more political statements, etc.

I built up half of my Trek collection that way...

Man lets see...the freebies I have are: Klingon handcuffs, a particle collector, agonizer...there were more...just can't remeber.
Great, fun stuff and a great guy to do business with.

I too have stuff I got from Marco. Great costumer service. If I would send my money on Monday the next Monday I would get what I paid for and I would get a free gift. Buy a Star Trek phaser get a scanner for free. Buy BSG pistol get a metal cubit. Nothing big just something to say thanks for your bussiness.

I have 3 very unusual props by Marco Enterprises. I VERY early fully hero phaser which is the ugly duckling of my collection ... and I mean UGLY and mis shaped and huge and very heavy and full of boards and electronics. A prototype electronic PADD and of course a few of the communicators. I wish I had all the catalogs still.

OMG...had almost forgot about them. I remember I use to have the blue catalogue and the yellow one as well. Man that really takes me back. Glad I saw this thread.

Wow! Reading this thread made me go back through my old files,
and lo & behold I found about SIX or seven of the old Marco Catalogs
and a buch of flyers still in their original mailing envelopes!

I totally forgot how he used to have rubber stamped Star Wars sayings in his envelopes!

Yeah, I kind of miss those old catalogs. I still have a few. I think I probably got to meet him in 1987 at the 10th Anniversary SW Convention. (Anyone else there? It was awesome. Even tho it was a Creation Con... :lol Of course, it became way better when our bartender started giving us free cashews with our beer.)

Even tho most of the stuff was kinda junk (even in the catalog pics), especially by today's standards, I kind of miss them. I really wish I'd picked up the Ben Kenobi saber, and the Luke ROTJ saber, cuz, well, they were sorta close... but different. The Graflex style sabers were all metal, and not just sink tube pipes, either. For a year or two they also offered a Mauser kit where you'd get a resin Mauser, and 1 of each scope and flash hider that were used in the movies. Well, not super accurate by today's standards, but the idea of getting a whole Mauser extravaganza was pretty cool.

He also sold saber kits: aluminum grips (not accurate, but cool, and they looked like they were extruded!) with D-rings, PC board things... I wish I'd picked up some spare grips from him.

I was trying to think of what Marco props I have, and I think I remember them all: Graflex saber with resin copies of the original grips, a Vader helmet cast from an ANH helmet :love (my Big Purchase from the 10th Anniversary Con), and a few small bits - Lando's collar pins from ROTJ, some Hoth rebel rank badges, and somewhere, an Imperial cap device. The pin fell out of it and I lost that part, but I'm not sure where I've got the stupid little wheel, either. Seems like there was something else, but that's all I can think of just now.

I remember the Viper helmet. Spcglider used to have one. I was bummed when he'd sold it to someone else. I'm sure there are better ones available now, but I still liked the Marco version.

I'm in the same boat. I remember seeing that full Stormtrooper and thinking, "If I win the lottery..." and now I've got a full TK, Fett and Vader! I never would have dreamed. I had several props from them including a ST V phaser and a ST:TNG tricorder that had a B&W photocopy for the "graphics" and a sheet of thin clear plastic over the top, held in place by a screw. Pretty cheesy, but I loved it!

So... anyone have any actual pics of the props still in their collection?

I just went through some old photos and found the following, all from Marco:

All of my Marco stuff is long gone though. Anyone else?

I've still got all my Marco's, but I don't have any pics to post just now. Soon.... whatever that means. :)

I saved a bunch of the catalogs from back then. From Marco to New Eye, StarBase 1 I think I still have one of Greg Stones LOL. After Christmas I may scan them all and put them up.

He was still selling in 2002 because I have the catalog. The later ones were in color instead of the older b/w. I also have seen images of catalogs from 2006 I think. I heard a rumor that he still makes and sells stuff but can't verify that. The only piece I have still from Marco is the Klingon dagger shown above.

I have all my Marco stuff but no pictures online. I have a Star Trek phaser and Blue Uniform shirt. I stll wear my Batttlestar Galacticas blaster. I also got the belt and hoster set for the BSG but only use the communicator now.I didn't get alot it was my 1st years of being married and we didn,t have much extra money. Thermal here has a lot still in him collection. I also have another friend that has all him Marco stuff and it is alot.

I have 3 old Marco lightsabers and to this day I love them. I've tried for years to find other Marco sabers with little luck. Always a spot in my collection for them!

His versions were surprisingly accurate for the times--and I love his old Obi saber. I used to POUR over those catalogs!

Does anybody have an idea of what Marco props might be worth?
I've got some in storage I have to get to. The 3 that I know I have are a ST TOS phaser, the ST V "power leech" and ST V small Klingon hand phaser that Kirk uses to seal the door.
