Is it possible to make vacforms from a plasticard mould?

I have a large item I'd like to get vacformed. The largest part of the mould is made of solid resin, but the top section is built from 1.5mm styrene sheet.

So, I'm thinking this is not going survive the process, for long, anyway

....Desperate last chance, really, but is there any way of treating the surface of the mould to strengthen it and protect it from the heat of the forming process?

Any ideas welcome, though not holding my breath :angel

Why not get a really nice pull/draw over your master then USE the vacuu-form AS a mold, and pull a stone copy, sand smooth and such and then use that as your permanent buck?
