Is anybody interested in a "business" partnership...?

Hey Mike, what do you think about this?
2zpp7qd.jpg

Is it based on your sketches...
Let me know :)

(BTW there are a couple of 3D lightsabers sketches on the previous page)

Damn, man, that's nice.

Very well done :)

As far as the latest sabers go, I'm partial to the one with the tubular emitter, as opposed to the flat disc. I think the disc seems a bit too wide, like it might be awkward to wear... That's just my opinion. Means nothing. But compare them to the original ANH Obiwan saber — I think that looks slightly more functional, more like odd bits of machinery (go figure :rolleyes ).

It's your design; do what you wanna do.

Love the currency — it's great to see some fun money stuff being done. Is that based on my sketches? Let me know if you want any constructive criticism on that.

Sure thing.
I NEED critics on the money, even if I should make a completely different banknote (that one was just based on your "idea" if you know what I mean :) ).
If you have a very specific idea for the design and graphic of that currency (like text, placement of the "parts", special features, etc...), just let me know ;)

BTW...
Out of curiosity, anyone else is interested in this project?
And... There are any progresses from the already interested and "active" members?

Suggestions regarding your money:

Perhaps give the large "50" a thicker stroke; to increase visibility.

Give the "FIFTY" text a double outline (one light, one dark), to enhance visibility.

Consider adding another serial number in an open area.

Perhaps add a seal (bank or governmental) in one of the open areas.

Flip the portrait so he faces toward the center of the note; to draw the viewer's eye smoothly across the note, left to right.

I encourage you to peruse Ron Wise's big collection of banknotes, for ideas:

Look at what other nations are doing, read up on banknote design principles and anti-counterfeiting measures. If you want. :)

I'll post some of the stuff I've done later tonight.

This was my first 'serious' currency design. Designed and built from scratch. It's six years old now. To me, it looks rather crude in design. I'm planning to make some revisions to it soon.

These guys here are only a few months old. They were based on a heavily Photoshopped scan of a real bill, which seems to lend the design and structure more realism. As these have never been given away or sold, we could offer these as a small project. They're Firefly / Serenity 'expanded universe' bills.

Here's one of my current projects: a non-canon Blade Runner bill. Still needs a lot of work to feel 'complete' and the base design may need to be tweaked as well. Might have to change the color scheme...

If I may make one suggestion on the money, and mind you this is after I said "Holy S&*t that looks GREAT."

The flipping of the portrait was a great suggestion, you may also want more of a blend of his background, that color behind his head looks a bit dark.

But honestly, this looks awesome. I love prop money.. :)

Just today I started to download bank notes fromaround the world for my next pass at making some new prop money.

:thumbsup

Thanks Noeland :)

Also...
What about videogame props? I'm asking (even if there are some "small" copyright problems...) because I've read this thread and I think I could help in the process... http://www.therpf.com/index.php?showtopic=115408&st=40
If we are interested in these kind of props, we can try to do something in this field too... :confused

Ramiel,

I would love to see work on the needler. If you can model it solid in Max, I can mill it out. We would just need to figure out a good breakdown of parts. My only concern is the size - the needler is over 26" long and bulky. Maybe a .5 replica or something. I know everyone wants one to one but production costs on such a large item could be staggering.

And yes, I'm still workin' on the pistol.

Thanks for the update Jmtwo ;)
I think I could model the needler (and the pistol and rifle) and a 1:1 replica could be done in "pieces" to glue together... But as you said, it will be so damn expensive. Maybe only after an "interest list"... Or better yet, a "human sized" replica... Still big, but not THAT huge...

(I have to bump this)
If there is anyone who was interested in this "project" and is still interested, just let me know... Ok?
Anyone is more than welcome. (I know, I know... I repeat myself... )
Thanks.

Cheers :)

I don't think I've posted these before...
These are some plaques (originally developed to hang a sword) I've done recently, do you like them? :)
