Is a Chen Grenade Replica Worth $230

Boba Debt

Ull Dar Borealis is selling 2 Chen Grenade replicas in the Junkyard for $200 plus shipping from BC which I assume would be around $30.

Both have a dent in the fin ring.

Are these worth the asking price?

Are these the most accurate replica available?

Since you asked. He can ask whatever he wants for them. What they are worth is the amount someone is willing to pay for them and what that person feels is fair. As far as the accuracy, I don't know since I'm not a saber guy.

I would say so. I have a Chen grenade and love it! I *believe* it's the most accurate grenade to date but I honestly don't keep up with the saber debates.

Yes, being that, I believe, is actually cheaper than what I paid for mine when Chen did his run.

Just get it, I really do believe it is the most accurate out there.

They were going for around $250.

You see them for more and you see them go for less but I think they are worth it. See if they are Symmetrical or Asymmetrical.

Which is more accurate, symmetrical or asymmetrical?

What's the deal with the Stormpath replica?

Is it in limbo or is it going to happen?

Stormpath has produced before, he has a great reputation.

Once he has the information required I think he will go forward, but in these things you can never be certain.

Symmetrical is most accurate IMO. Back when the issue first came up I think about 60% agreed with me, maybe 70%. What the consensus is now I do not know. IMO there is no possible doubt that the original prop grenade was essentially symmetrical in the long grooves, and there is one real grenade which shares this characteristic so it's not like it's out of the blue.

I'm glad the consensus is that symmetrical is more accurate. I remember going symmetrical because I liked it better, even though I thought it was pretty cool that Chen went to all the trouble to get special tooling made for the asymmetrical ones.

Sorry don't mean to hijack this thread, but could someone somehow illustrate the 'symmetrical vs asymmetrical' thing on the grenade.

I never bothered to figure it out and I think its time I did.

MBM--Chen made that choice initially becase despite the evidence of our eyes re: the prop, we 'knew' that all grenades were asymmetrical, so he was going to be the first to actually make one that way. Then JediScout posted a real grenade with symmetrical grooves and we all got to thinking. ;) Chen was awesome about offering the different options.

[Edit--come to think of it, I think it was Darth Saber who actually suggested we have another look at the issue. The debate that followed was not his favorite thread on the RPF, I think. :p ]
