Damn! Yeah you need a workspace avoid of pets and sharp winds.

And I'm French, I tend to do things the hard way. I'm sure there's an easier way of doing it. But it's just how my first try went:)

hey 2 questions
im doing the chest, any tips on how to get the right shape?
and are you going to do any weathering?

I started with the arc reactor chamber and worked my way outward. As long as you tape it all together before the hot glue, to get it just right, you should be ok. The sides I layered. I made the layers then glued them together.

And I'm not doing any weathering. But I have a neat trick with liquid latex that you can use if you want to give it some battle damage.

ohhh whats the neat trick
thanks for the tip, i started with the arc reactor too, its really hard to see what it looks like though with like 5 layers of tape on top of everything!
also on the chest theres two pieces to the left and right under and to the side of the arc, and the templates call for 4 layers, did you use all the layers?

Yeah I spared no expense on the tape. Lol
And yes I used all the layers. Once again, I'm sure that there's an easier way to go about it but that's what I did.

So here's the battle damage trick.

So 8-12 layers of tacky glue/water mix.
3 layers of plasti dip
3 layers of adhesion promoter
Silver base coat on everything.
Then use the liquid latex with a small paint brush to go over the edges that you want the battle damage on.

Once applied paint all your colors; gold, red, silver etc.

Then once fully dry find the edges/areas that you applied the latex to and peel the areas off showing the silver base coat under neath.

After all that you can use black and brown acrylic paint to go over the edges of the areas that you peeled off giving them a burnt look.

Once all done it'll look like the suit has battle damage where it got scraped and chard from a fire fight. :)

on the chest where you put in the arc reactor, are you going to put anything infront of the arc like glass or something? or will you be able to reach in and touch it once its in the chest

You'll be able to touch it. I put in too much detail for it to hide behind some glass. :) I'll have a metal ring holding it in place.

whats the drying time between coats of paint and how long does the paint take to dry completely?

30 mins between coats, preferably outside on a sunny day, and 24 hours to fully cure

I used metropolitan nu-life shoe spray. Expensive but well worth it because of its ultra flexibility.

Same drying/applying time with the plasti dip and adhesion promoter.

As for the tacky glue, that drys really fast
