Looks great! I am actually working on a mark 42 helmet myself. Do you plan on hardening it or painting it as is?

I have started putting pva on it but so far only done two coats and then will prob cover it with resin.

I know this has been asked before but can i use fibre glass to cover my mark 3 foam helmet as smooth on is just to expensive for me to use. i have coated it with pva so just need to get it to look better. this is the first time i have done anything like this.

A lot of people use plastidip to coat the foam. What ever you do don't use fiberglass on the outside of the piece. You might be able to just apply a couple coats of the resin and hardener without the fiberglass to the exterior if you didn't want to use plastidip though. Idk for sure, I haven't tried that myself. I would look into plastidip

Where did you buy this type of foam? it looks great btw.

thanks. got the foam from thames valley supplies. its 10mm. its the same as what james (xrobots) uses. will prob make another one as this one is a bit big for my head and going to change the way i cut the parts out. try not to make so many cuts and joins.

thanks. its ok for my first try. what is the best way to measure my head so i get the right size. when i do the next one will try and cast it and do it in resin so to get better detail. any tips would be great.

this is my finished helmet. not great but im happy with it as my first try. i hope my next one will be better
